Why birth control before frozen transfer?

i had my retrieval already and we will be doing a frozen embryo transfer. I just finished AF and they put me on birth control because the PGS testing results aren't back yet. Am I missing something? Why not just wait for my next AF to do the transfer? What's the role of the Bcp's. I know I will be doing patches and progesterone eventually. Thanks for the info if you have experienced an IVF with PGS.

    Sometimes they do this so they can be in charge of your cycle. Also they don't want you to ovulate that month at least that was what my doctor said but she didn't put my on birth control for the frozen. If you ask your doctor I would be curious to know why also.

    Also doing FET and I was started on BCPs as well and told it was to control my cycle.  We did ER at the end of July and as soon as I got my period after ER, I called in to tell them I got it,  then they prescribed BCPS and gave me an exact date on which to start and stop the pill...then four days or so after stopping the pill I went in for baseline US and blood.   I know they kept me on the BCP longer than necessary to establish regularity for the cycle because they advised I would need to be on it a  few days longer because of the facility's ability to have me start the FET cycle at an earlier date.

    This is my first frozen cycle after the failed fresh cycle. I am doing back to back. They did not put me on BCP for frozen (I did 2 weeks for fresh). I directly started 2 mg estrace twice daily from day 3 o my AF. May be it depends on the clinic.

    Thanks everyone. I think it's because we still haven't received the PGS testing results. It's making me batty! @NicWalker10 .. I think that's what they are doing. Wait for resulted.. Then do the estrace and the progesterone shots. Then the transfer. It was just confusing to me why so long on the birth control.
