My feet look like sh*t

ugh!!! My baby shower is this weekend and I I'm wearing sandals but my feel swell a lot. So all my toes are chunky! Lol. My feet aren't funky (at least I hope not). I keep up them but I just hate looking at them. They feel a little rough but I get them nice and smooth once a week :)

Re: My feet look like sh*t

  • Yes!! But for me it's only my left ankle and foot that looks like a tree trunk and this only started this past week.. My showers coming up as well and I have not even tried closed shoes, all I wear are flip flops or sandals.

  • I'm going to sit sit sit as much as I can bc I hate my chunky toes. I have 4 weeks left and I'm spreads dorky feet to look normal
  • Same here. If you are able, try to sit with your feet up before the shower to try and take as much of the swelling away as you can.
  • My left foot and ankle have started swelling up these past two days. I think it's because baby is positioned with her head down and butt to the left side so she's pressing my iliac and femoral arteries more than the other side. Happened to me with my first pregnancy too. Been putting my feet up as much as possible and compression stockings when I can. It's so damn hot here this week that I have not wanted to wear them.
  • I wore a very long dress to my shower to cover up my feet as much as possible. They were awful by the time I got home but it was also a hot day. Now that temps have cooled off in my area, feet are doing much better. Similar to @cderitz, my left foot/ankle is the worst.
  • I'm wearing a maxi too with my sandals. I'm hoping it will cover my feet as much as possible!
  • Do your sandals have an arch in them? I find that I swell less when I wear my sandals with arches. Flat sandals KILL ME.

Maybe treat yourself to a pedicure before your shower? or put your feet up as long as possible before.

P.S. nobody is going to judge your feet - you are pregnant after all!

  • My midwife told me to squeeze into my tennis shoes, if I can (which, of course, I can't). She said it would help (I have no clue how).

  • OMG, I have disgusting hobbit feet. I wanted to buy a new pair of shoes for my shower this weekend, but I'm currently wearing shoes TWO sizes larger than normal. It's been hard to find anything decent, with the seasons changing. I may try to squeeze into a pair that I already own but am dreading it. No idea what I'm going to do... No. Freaking. Idea. Thank god for maxi dresses, but people are still going to see my feet!
    :((
  • I wear my compression stockings as much as I can and it helps tremendously. And of course, putting my feet up whenever I can! ☺️ Take it easy ladies.

TEVA Sandals and some of the Reef Sandals. Pricey but they last and have MUCH better support than say the $1.50 sandals at Old Nacvy.
  • Ugh! My feet are so gross! They swell so much that I have bands around my ankle where my skin couldn't stretch anymore.. it looks weird. Thank goodness for pedicures. I'm getting one next Thursday so that they look semi nice for my shower next Saturday.

  • I hate my feet right now lol. It's like the second I put weight on them in the morning they swell! And they hurt. Meh.
  • When I take my shoes and socks off at night I have noticed that they look kinda red-ish/purple-ish....so I put my socks back on b/c its kinda unnerving lol.
They haven't really been hurting though. I have a sit down job, so I'm not on my feet all day. In fact I have the issue that I wish I had a job I could move around more, instead of less.
I have been wearing really comphy tennies that are acctualy a half size bigger. A friend who needed to down size her shoe collection gave me two pair, and I panicked at first b/c they are half a size bigger than my normal size. Then after a few weeks of wearing them I realized that my feet have swollen to fit them.

O.o...I just realized that I will need to find shoes other then tennies for my shower, I am wearing a just below the knee length dress...Noooo, I don't want to go shoe shopping!!!! (i normal love shopping, but once 3rd trimester hit, i have found it to be a bother)
  • I feel the same way! I have my baby shower this week and can't find cute shoes to wear. I get sad when I see my swollen feet, but I hope they go back to normal.
  • All my cute shoes have been out away. Im currently wearing sandals but I still hate my feet
  • I went to Famous Footwear last night because I didn't have any shoes left that would fit other than flip flops (which are not work appropriate) and the clerk looked at my feet like they were from an alien. She kept making remarks like: that looks really painful, even your flip flops are cutting into your skin, why haven't you done anything for that? I finally had to just let her have it. I was done.
  • From my experience drinking lots of water keeps your feet and the whole body away from swelling .
  • I wore a cute pair of strappy wedges to my shower and it was a huge mistake...I ended up kicking them off about twenty minutes in a being barefoot the rest of the shower because my feet hurt so bad. No one cared and I was comfy!
  • Drinking more water has brought the swelling down in my feet and hands. I am going to try to wear some heels or something with a little arch on my baby shower.
