Trouble TTC

Delayed on clomid

Ok all of my opk's have been negative and the best reading on the monitor was high. My bbt has not shown any sign of ovulation so far. Now I'm concerned it's so late that if I do o the progesterone inserts would not be able to work fast enough to stop af. Anyone have any delays on clomid?
I'm calling my provider in a few hours to see if they can get me in for u/s. I just really don't want to get my hopes up.

Re: Delayed on clomid

  • Well its a null and void question now. I've started spotting. %-(

  • I am also on Clomid. I am currently 3 days late (CD31). I didn't use any OPK's because this is my first time on Clomid and I just wanted to go for it and see what happens. If it doesn't work I will use OPK's to guide me better this next cycle. But on CD15 I went in for a check up with my GYN and she said she saw 2 eggs...
If by next week monday I don't get my AF I will do a PT and hopefully get a BFP!!!!

Wish me luck and good luck to everyone TTC-ing!! xoxo

  • Clomid can birth delay ovulation and extend your LP, pushing back AF. It may also make charting more difficult as it messes with your BBT while talking the pill and a few days after. Good luck!

@turtle148 Did your spotting stop? Based on your CM in your chart, maybe you had a little spotting with O.

  • @riveridgional where to start with the disaster yesterday. I started spotting and was in weird pain so I called my provider. Just monitor and let us know if it gets worse. Of course it got worse at 4pm. So I let them know it was (tmi following) clots the size of a half dollar or more. They asked how long it would take for me to get there and I basically told them I couldn't make it before they closed in Atlanta traffic. So I was sent to the er. I got to it by 5pm. My bp was 157/109 with my bp pills on board. I was stuck twice for blood draws and needed to give a lovely urine sample that was full of blood. At triage I was asked"so what do you take clomid for"? I wanted to scream what does every other woman take clomid for they are ttc! Totally clueless on what clomid was or what they should be concerned with. This was all before 6pm. By 8:30 pm I was finally going to talk with a physician. In walks an 8 month pg nurse practitioner (awesome). I explained the clomid cycle and that on cd18 at 7am I started spotting and it is large clots. She had no idea what it was and asked me about bleeding for 18 days! I had to explain the entire thing day by day to get her to understand. Dh was getting pissed because she wrote nothing down. By 8:45 I got a pain pill and shot for nausea then moved into a hallway to wait for u/s. At 11:30 I was finally taken to u/s then returned to my chair in the hallway. Now at 12:30 dh was really mad because I'm still in horrible pain with dizziness, nausea, and abdominal bloating sitting in a hallway. Finally at 1:45 am my new doctor comes over and introduced himself. He just had to joke about the pg nurse practitioner who can work late. Then wants to tell me about hemoglobin. I basically had to interrupt his stupid little speech and ask if ohss has been ruled out. "Oh umm yeah that was ruled out. I read a paper about that a few years ago. So I'm going to prescribe you some bc pills." The hell you are! I told him no and then he got the bright idea to call my physician to find out which bc pills to put me on. That was the last time he had that idea because they told him do nothing but give her pain and nausea meds and send her to us because we know how to treat her. He didn't joke again with us after they got into him. I finally left the er and got home just before 3am.
Now I'm on cd 2 and waiting to head to a real doctors office. So my entire cycle was 17 days.
  • WOW.... what a horrible experience!  I hate to say this but this doesn't surprise me ONE BIT.   Most doctors don't have a fargin clue about female reproductive medicine unless it's about childbirth or birth control pills.   You'd be shocked at how many GYN's know little to nothing about infertility and only have a vague idea of the various stages in our cycles.   Medicine has ignored women's health from the very get go.

  • Thank you for all the well wishes ladies! Well we received our answers today. Endometrial lining was less than 2mm. The bleeding has decreased significantly. Now I'm starting 10 days of Estradiol then follow it up with 5 days of provera. Once af arrives is back to clomid cd 3-7. I did ovulate so that's a positive. Oh well guess it gives me time to study before we get back on the ttc bus.
  • Oh turtle! That sounds absolutely terrible! I'm glad you have a plan of action now though.

  • @turtle148 I am so sorry to hear that. And here I am on CD36 with no AF either but lot's of BFN!
Darling I hope all goes well and that your next clomid cycle is the one you've been hoping for.
