When will it began!?!?!?!

I first lost a bit of my mucus plug 8/30. Have been losing it here and there since then. Saturday and today I lost a lot. Friday 9/4 my doc said I was 2cm dilated. I havent had one contraction yet. The only pain I feel is extreme hip pain, pressure, and lower back pain, some very minor vaginal cramps. I am a FTM and my due date is Friday 9/11... I just want this to be over so i can see my chubby cheeks!!! Slight rant but seriously, anyone have any suggestions to get the ball rolling or want to guess when this processed will actually began. I am planning to have as much intercourse as i can lol. HELP

  • Just be patient, honestly. You may go past your due date and that's ok. The best thing you can do is let your baby give your body the signals to begin labor when he/she is ready. The loss of plug and degree of dialation mean nothing. Get your rest, walk a lot, and just wait.

  • I was 2.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced at my 38 week appointment. I lost my mucus plug 3 days later and my water broke that same night; I had the baby the next morning. My due date was 9/10. We definitely weren't expecting it ... at this point it could be any day now! Hope it's sometime soon!

That's the million dollar question for so many of us. If we knew or had a pee stick to tell us how much longer, we could be billionaires. For now it's just a wait and see.
  • I'm over 40 weeks and dry as a bone. No mucous, no discharge, nothing. It's a waiting game for us all.

  • I agree with the other mammas...u just have to grit ur teeth and see out this journey the long and hard way. Dont focus on ur due date..they are just a guide (and a big fat lie!) Dont focus on every pain. Just go with the flow because like what i did a week ago in ur situation is obsess and it just makes the process so much longer. I am now 6 days overdue and seriously just taking every day as a normal day because u just drive urself crazy and become overly emotional and it doesnt speed things up!
  • Forgot to say good luck! Xx
  • All fab advice there!! Nothing you can do, but you can enjoy the last few days (max weeks) and make the most of the calm before the storm as our lives are about to totally change and it's crazy!! I've been spending some quality time on me which is a rarity in this house!! Enjoy every second as I bet at some point you'll wish they were back in your tummy ;) very best of luck!! Xxx
  • Have you been reading the birth announcements?! AH! I am in no rush to get this baby out! Some of these stories (while, of course, are beautiful) are scaring the merde out of me! I'm also 37w, so I have a lot of time still. I guess speak to me at 40w and see how patient I am.

As PP said, hang in there. Baby's coming! He won't forget. ; )
  • waiting for babies is like watching the phone when you want it to ring... it's not going to happen if you keep focusing on it lol. With my son I had a full-on dramatic breakdown when his due date came and went. Once I released all of that frustration and stopped watching the clock my water broke (40w2d), but even then he tried his best to stay put. I couldn't blame him... it was a cold day in December so I would want to stay in the snugly warmness where all of my needs are met automatically and instantaneously lol. Hang in there mamma. Your day will soon come :-)
  • I was 2cm dilated at 36 weeks and still was only 2cm dilated at 38 weeks despite having contractions everyday. (Nothing consistent though)
My induction is scheduled to start tomorrow so I am curious to see if I've made anymore progress.

Hang in there! I know we are all anxious to see our sweet babies.
  • I've been dilated 1cm since I was 29 weeks and 50% effaced. This baby is never coming on her own. Due to a weird NST yesterday, my dr is not going to let me go too much longer. I'm really hoping that this baby will come without being induced. All of my babies have ended up distressed and induced as a result.
