Baby sizes - 4 Months

What sizes are your babies wearing, how old and how much do they weigh now?

My baby is a week and 4 days shy of 4 months and he is around 15 lbs. He's outgrowing his 3 month clothing and can still squeeze in 3-6 month clothing. 6 and 6-9 month clothing fits him really well, with space to grow. I'm hoping he'll be able to wear 6 and 6-9 month clothing for about another month- month in half. Most 6 month clothing goes up to 16.5lbs, so I'm not sure if he will still fit 6 months by then.

Re: Baby sizes - 4 Months

  • DS is 16 weeks tomorrow. Last time I weighed him he was 15lbs 3oz and is about 26.5 inches long. He's fitting well into 6 month clothes right now. I anticipate he'll stay in them until end of October and then we will move into 9 month. I'm thankful I exchanged so many of his 6 month sweaters for 9 month as it's been way too hot for him to wear half of the clothes he got.

  • I agree with you too @chambersbaby2015. I has purchased a lot of 6 month clothing for winter, I exchanged them for 9 months...Still have quite a few 6 months clothing, bc baby is in daycare and its like a ice box in there. So I pray that he'll wear them up until the end of Oct like you stated.
  • Dd is 20 weeks today she is about 14 pounds. She really varies on what she can wear. She is slender and long so she still fits in 3 months onsies but needs 6-9 for pants even though they are big in the waist she needs the length
  • Mine will be 19 weeks tomorrow. At her 4 month appointment last week she was 11 pounds, 12 ounces and 23 inches long. She still mostly wears 0-3 month clothing with sleepers being the only exception (3-6 months in those). All of her 3-6 month clothes are short sleeved and were purchased in the spring before she was born. We never dreamed she wouldn't be in them by now!
  • My son is 15 lb 9 oz and 26 inches long at 14 weeks. He is quickly outgrowing 6 month clothes!!!
  • DD is a tiny little one - 20 weeks and 12 lbs. She's really short too - 21 inches. She wears mainly 0-3 month stuff with the occasional 3-6 mo shirt & newborn pants still hanging on! DS is my chunker (comparatively) at 16 lbs & 26 inches. He is now starting in 6-9 mo stuff.
  • 17 weeks just put her into 3-6 clothes today & she weighed 8.7lbs at birth, 11.4lbs at 9 weeks & I've not had her weighed since. I'm in the UK so we have different check up times.
  • DS is almost 17 weeks and clocked in yesterday at 18 lbs. Not sure how long he is, but he's getting too tall for a lot of his onesies. We are into 9 mo clothes.
  • I thought I'd have a big baby when I was pregnant (I was 5'1 115lb and ended at 165lbs; DH is 6'3) and LO came out at 7lb6oz and 20 3/4 inches long. At her 2 month appt she weighed 10.5 lbs length was 23 I think...? She's 15 weeks as of Saturday and still is in 0-3 month clothing. I barely put her in it at 3 months. She's not near to wearing 3-6 yet either
  • DD is 14 weeks and still in 0-3, have got all her 3-6 months clothes but they are still a bit big, she was 13lb when we had her weighed last week
  • We are in six month clothes at 19 lbs
  • We are 19 wks and our LO is 11 lbs. 3 oz, 24.5" long. He was born at 38 weeks 6 lbs. 7oz, 18.5" long. He is def on the smaller side. Still wearing 0-3 month clothes. Even though he is only in 7th percentile for weight and 19th percentile for height, we're not too worried. He is a great eater (both breast fed and formula) and seems to excel in all of his milestones!
  • My LO is 18 weeks, at our appt. last week she weighed 13lb 6 oz and was 25.25". She is tall and slender she is into 6 month onesies but can still fit into 3 month pants, the waist is too big in the 6 month pants! I hope she wears the 6 month onesies for awhile. Oh and she can also wear 3 month shirts that aren't onesies.
  • DS is 15 weeks and weighs 15 pounds and is 27 inches long, so depending on the brand and style, he wears 3, 6 or 9 month sizing.
  • DD is 18 weeks and weighs 15 pounds. She's 26.25 inches long. Shes fitting into her 3-6 month clothes and she doesn't look like she's drowning in them anymore. The pants are way too big in the 6 month size for craters brand though. She's outgrowing her 6 month sleepers, they're just too short. But the 9 month ones are still too big to make the transition.
  • Ds is 15 weeks. I can still squeeze him into 3-6 month clothing, but 6-9 month fit him the best. He wears some 12 month clothing, too -- Depending on the brand. He is a big boy!
  • DD is 16 weeks tomorrow, and still wearing 0-3 month sizes.  She has outgrown a few onesies, and is close on some sleepers.  I haven't tried any of her 6 month stuff on yet, but I checked out the onesies from Carters, and they'd be bigger, but would fit her now, I think.  She's finally fitting her cloth diapers, so she should be ok for the bigger pants too (they have more butt to stretch over now, lol).  She's about 12lbs and 24 or so inches.  We have her 4 month appointment on the 25th.

I'm set for clothes until she's in about 18 month sizes.  One grateful mama here for all of the gifts!
  • DS is 4 months tomorrow.. 18 lbs and wearing 6-9 (though probably for not much longer!)

  • My DS is 4mo today! He weighs 18lbs and he's 27 inches! He's fitting in 9mo comfortably, but we already started to buy 12mo outfits. I had to move up a size in diapers (to 22-37lbs) because his thighs are huge with lots of rolls!
  • DD has been in 9 month clothes for a few weeks now! She turns 4 months tomorrow! Doctor said she's not fat, just really tall (93rd percentile) but I'm not sure where the tallness of coming from cause I'm 5'0 and hubby is 5'4!
  • DS is 19 weeks. He weighed 17 lbs 8 oz and 25.5" a week and half ago at his check up. He has had a virus for the last few days and has lost a little weight. His 6 month clothes are getting snug. There isn't much room in his sleepers! I went and got 9 month clothes last weekend to have ready.
  • My little guy is 15 weeks tomorrow and weighs between 17-19lbs and is wearing nothing but 6-9m and 9-12m clothing!!
  • My LO is 19 weeks, not quite 27", 15 lbs 5 oz. He's just moving from 3-6mo clothes to 6-9mo, and 6-12mo clothing. He has a really long torso, but is pretty slim, so some clothes can be baggy even when they're the right length. Pants are also generally too long even if the onesie that goes with it fits perfectly.
  • Baby girl is 17 weeks today(9/12). She weighs 22 pounds(breastfed exclusively) and is about 26 inches long. She barely fits 3-6 months so she mostly wears 6 or 6-9 months. At this rate I dont think she will make it through the winter months before she reaches 12 month clothes. She was 9 lbs 9 oz when she was born so she was always a big baby. Hopefully she slows down this month X_X
  • Mine's 19w and wears 3m or 3-6m. She's kind of small I guess, 10.4 pounds 24 inches.
  • My little man is 18 weeks, he weighs 19 lbs and is in 12 month clothing.

My little girl was 4 months on the 7th, at her appointment today she was 12lbs 7oz and 25.5 inches. Still fits best in 0-3 month clothing.
  • My daughter is 19 weeks wearing 3 month clothing. Love that she's tiny and petite! Hate that I pre-bought so much clothing for her that she hasn't been able to wear. Learned my lesson and will buy stuff closer to each season to make sure things fit!

DD is 17 weeks old. 10lbs 13oz and is 23 5/8". 22nd percentile in length and 2nd percentile in weight. Finally started her in size 1 diapers, her thighs were too thin so they were too loose but fit well now.
She's still wearing a lot of newborn clothes! But most of them are Granimals brand. Newborn shorts are still loose on her but pants are short like capris! Her 0-3m pants are too big while the onesies fit her well. Almost outgrowing 0-3 month sleepers though, or are they shrinking?;)
The struggle to find clothes that fit well is as hard for her as it is mommy!

Edited: she is EBF. No worries on how small she is though, she is alert & awake and has small rolls on her wrist, etc. so it appears that she's doing great!
  • My son is 12lbs 3oz. 4.5months old. Just grew out of 0-3. Currently wearing 3-6 that is alittle big on him.
  • 4 months next week. He's 16lbs 9 ounces. He's in 9 month clothing.

  • I'm convinced baby clothes have vanity sizing for parents.  We're 34th percentile weight, 70th percentile height and outgrowing 6-month clothes at barely four months!
