My husband and I are going to register for our baby boy next week. We are first time parents and not really sure what to put on the list. What are your must have items?
There are a number of threads on different products on here, I recommend using the search feature for your answer. When I did that, one of the girls commented about lucies list, which breaks down everything you need to register for (the must have stuff)
When other people have started threads like this some people say you have to have x and then others will say don't buy the same item, so personal recommendations don't help that much. If you use the search function you'll see what I mean.

^ yes, it has so much to do with your lifestyle, where you live, and your baby's preferences. Unfortunately, us FTMs have to guess and hope for the best based on what's recommended by the professionals. I will say that after much nannying experience the most used item regardless of the baby in my experience is the rocker/glider.
I really liked boppy pillow. I know it sounds random, but it was just much more comfortable for long holding/feeding sessions. And it was also nice for extra support for older and younger relatives wanting to hold the baby.
For baby- swing! If I needed to get anything done, I just popped my guys in their swing and I was able to get them to nap quick and get dinner made. It had the vibrating option as well.
Of the bare minimum lists that I've found I think this one is actually honest. Most other lists throw on quite a bit of stuff that I just don't feel we need, and will not get much use and will just take up space. I will throw out a disclaimer, I am a minimalist.... I also already got a boppy pillow that will be used for feeding but also when my two step kids want to hold the baby early on. And a high chair. I've already bought the kind that sit on a dining room chair, not self standing.
