Super discouraged

Just went to my 40 week appointment and the doctor said I wasn't at all dialated. We decided we should schedule an induction and the earliest the hospital had available was next week. So id be 41.3! I'm miserable. I can't work. I'm in pain! And after hearing this I haven't stopped crying.

    Things can change quickly, and 41.3 is pretty standard. Baby may end up coming on their own after all. Positive thoughts your way! My due date is tomorrow and nothing has started
    For me either but I know baby will come when he is ready

    I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Things can change day by day though, you really can go into labor at anytime regardless of how much, or little, progress you have made to this point. Also, you didn't mention effacement but if you aren't dialated, your cervix isn't currently favorable for an induction. That really increases your chances of a c section. Maybe you will go into labor on your own before your induction date. If not, maybe your cervix will be more favorable and you'll have an easier induction next week. Good luck!

    SO much can change in just 24 hours -- keep very positive if you can -- things might totally be different than what you're expecting to now happen!! Good luck!!

    With my first they set an induction date and I ended up going into labor on my own after a sweep at a routine prenatal appointment. It can change in a snap.

    I'm sorry, I feel your pain. My hospital won't induce until 11 days past 40 weeks, so I fear this may happen to me too. I don't want to be induced and just keep the hope that I'll wake up in the middle of the night with broken water lol good luck xo

    I know exactly how you feel. It sucks! I had my 40 week appointment today and I've had no changes since my last one. I'm 50% and no dilation. I was hoping for something! My doctor was talking induction next week. We shall see!

    It is quite disappointing though when you're at your due date!! Pregnancy-totally different than I imagined! lol

    I feel your pain! I'm a STM & I'm 40+3.. at my checkup this morning I was only 1cm dilated & 0% effaced (been that way since 38 weeks). Doc was going to do a membrane sweep but couldn't because I was only a cm. It was so hard to hear the same news again, especially being overdue! I thought with this being my second that things would move along a little quicker. My induction date is set for Monday if nothing happens before then. But I sure hope it does!

    With my first, I was scheduled to be induced at 41+1 and went into labor the day before! It can still happen!!
