We have a heartbeat !!!!!!!

First appt this morning at 7weeks 1 day and we have a good strong heartbeat!!!!!!!!! After a MMC in March I can't begin to explain how relieved we are. I know we still have a long road ahead and many things can go wrong but today more than any day I am so grateful to be pregnant! Good luck to all you ladies. April can't come soon enough :):):):)image

  • Congrats!  That's great news :)

  • Congratulations! Awesome news! I felt the same way last week as I had never seen a heart beat before! (MMC Sept 2014 and Partial Molar Preganacy Dec 2014). Very excited for you! FX  for a happy and healthy preganacy!

  • That is great news.

BUT- there is an ultrasound thread where you should share ultrasounds. And you should really crop out your personal info. Based on this sonogram, I can figure out where you live and where you are being treated.

Congrats, but this should be in the US thread.

  • I really could care less that anyone on here knows my name and which kaiser I go to. It's not like it has my damn social!

You don't care about internet privacy? That is......not smart......

@Kaitlyn592 It's not that people are being jerks--I think everyone is genuinely happy for the OP--it's that if everyone makes a new thread when they get an ultrasound/hear the heartbeat, then the entire first page is going to be nothing but ultrasound threads.  Look at how many ultrasound pics are posted in the Ultrasound thread, now imagine if every.single.one of the those ladies had created her own thread.  Same with symptoms.  If every one of us posted every single time we got a new symptom, then the board would be a parade of "Nausea!" "Tired!" "Bloated!"  When people ask posters to be conscious about posting in the appropriate places it's not because we're trying to rain on some lady's baby parade, it's because we genuinely like the site and want to keep it readable.

All that being said, congrats OP!  You really might want to crop out your identifying info.  :)
    Very true
  • Her name is literally her username. I doubt she cares if people know her name guys. Let's just be happy for OP & celebrate with her the beautiful life she is creating.

You can be happy for someone and still think they need to be more careful. Your username shouldn't be your real name either.
  • @kaitlyn592 Where is the negativity in my post?  I said congrats and gave some logical reasons for posters' preference for consolidating threads.  But that's neither here nor there, the point is that lots of regular posters prefer consolidation--feel free to disagree.
  • @iamrandom My comment on negative energy was a general opinion on people who's sole desire is to police the threads and boss people around, not neccessarily directed at your post. But now you have made this thread negative because you chose to argue over my opinion instead of focusing on the poster's positive news. Again, people should be able to post about whatever they want. If you and these other "regular readers" have a problem, then don't look at the posts. I however am going to end this ridiculous argument and return the focus on the poster and her great news.
  • Congrats!! It's the best sound! I also had a mmc in march and we heard the heartbeat last week at 7 weeks 2 days! I get another u/s tomorrow! Nervous and excited!
  • First appointment tomorrow! I'll be 10 weeks on the nose and I am hoping they do a u/s I haven't had one, I haven't heard the heartbeat or anything so I am so jealous of all you ladies! Alas my time will come and I will post it because I don't care where things are supposed to go. I will have my own moment of happiness! Congratulations OP!
  • Well said @ladyduby !! Best of luck to you and @lilp2015 :D
  • Congrats!!! Cute little bean :)

  • Congratulations on hearing that heartbeat! During my first 2 ultrasounds (I underwent IVF, so I had very early ultrasounds) I had only seen the little flicker of the heartbeat but didn't hear audio. Last week during an emergency u/s because I thought I was miscarrying, the nurse gave me audio because she figured I needed the extra reassurance. I'm normally a very restrained, unemotional person (my husband jokes that I'm dead inside), but that sound made me burst into tears like an idiot. I also am typically very private and would respond to friends posting ultrasound images on social media with a curt "No one wants to see the inside of your uterus. TMI." But I'm learning to adjust and to share in others' excitement and to feel more comfortable with the aspects of pregnancy that used to stir my adolescent unease (lol). I don't have strong opinions regarding where you should post such images, but I think both sides have a point. If you're new to The Bump, though, it can take a little while to get a handle on the etiquette. I'm still trying to figure it out. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy!
  • Congratulations! Mine is tomorrow at 7 weeks 1 day as well - hoping for similar results.

  • I don't care who knows my name. My middle name is Baines if any of you want to steal my identity lololololol

Care to elaborate? How is it so awful to point out to someone that they should be more careful with their personal information. That is a real issue- do you know how many people online could just find info out about someone and show up at their house or place of business. I have been around The Bump/The Knot for a long time- you would be SHOCKED the amount of personal info I have seen people be able to find about a person.

Not sure what knottie said but in bummed it was removed before I could see!!!!
  • Update: Went in this morning and they just wanted to check the heartbeat at first and then schedule a u/s but they couldn't find it with the Doppler so she pulled in the u/s machine and the picture was super grainy so she didn't print one for us but we got to see our baby today and the image will forever be burned in my brain I am so in love, when we heard the heartbeat hubby cried which sent me into full fledged tears :)
  • Just came across your post! I had private messaged you a few minutes ago. So happy for you!!!!
