Let's share our DIY projects for baby!

It seems that nesting has set in.. Does anyone have a Pinterest board full of projects like me?! Let's share what we get done for baby!

Here's my first of many projects to come. I repurposed a big cork board. Covered it with fabric and ribbon to hang her head bands. I'm going to do another one for clippies. I haven't painted her room yet. Hence the blue walls.

We do have a thread already somewhere that people have posted Diy projects on, there have been tons of great ideas and creativity.

So far I made my little girls name out of wood letters and scrapbook paper. Super cute.

@yl1m32015 what did you use to get the scrapbook paper to stick to the wood letters? Glue gun? Modge podge?

We spent the afternoon painting a dresser and small table for our little guy. We painted the base of the dresser a white to match the crib and are staining a wood top. So excited to see how it comes together! Will for sure post once it's done!

ever since my DH painted the nursery early August, I've went nesting crazy. I've changed the whole look of my house but the nursery has to be the most dramatic change. The nursery use to be my husband's closet/shoe room. Not an actual closet but a room he turned into a closet. So, my DH moved all his stuff to an actual closet and painted the room grey. I LOVE IT! It's the first room in our house that we've painted. Since then I've done two DIY projects. My son's nursery is a "little man cave" theme. So, we are doing a lot of sports related things. I free hand four different canvas paintings and painted some wooden letters blue. I have many more projects to come. I cannot wait to see what you ladies come up with.

I saw something like this on etsy and thought it was a cute idea but it was 80 bucks! So I made my own, better, with colors I like. This is the finished product, although I may add some more seashells and crystals

I couldn't find a mobile I liked, so I bought a mobile base from amazon and used left over fabric from another nursery project to create my own.
So much cheaper and it goes perfectly with the nursery

@yl1m32015 gave me the confidence that I could use scrapbook paper on my alphabet wall instead of spray paint and I'm so happy I did!

Also spray painted her name, will paint the wall pink (this pic is just an app from Home Depot) and frame her name in a gold frame. And then add gold dots... That's not all done yet

Aaand i made 1,000 pink and gold paper cranes for my wedding that'll be a diy mobile (The Second to last pic I posted is the inspiration for the diy mobile)

Husband is a huge nerd so the nursery will have a Star Wars theme. This is all I've done so far. I saw it on Pinterest but decided to paint my own instead of buying it.

Bought this table to set near the rocker for $6.50 at a thrift store. After a little sand paper and paint, it's perfect for out little guy's nursery!

yesterday i painted a baseball stitching on one of the nursery room walls. this is the most painting and diy projects I've done in my life

All finished with cross-stitching my quilt...working on the decorative stitches now (French knots, stem stitch, satin stitch, & backstitch). Then, I need to sew on the backing fabric and some felt buttons to hold it all together.
We bought fabric for curtains this weekend...that's on the agenda. And I also started painting three 8x8 canvases to hang on the wall. Busy busy busy!

Baby name project...wrapped letters with yarn; hung up with picture hangers attached to back of letters, tied fishing lines to the hangers, and hung up on curtain rod with curtain loops from Target that have little clips on them! It was kind of a pain but I loved the end product

@neanerbeaner4 that is freaking awesome. We have some great Star Wars prints we just got at a comic con that we'll put up.

I really want to make a Harry Potter mobile for the crib but I just haven't had any time. I hope I can make it happen at some point.

You gals are killing me here! We're going through major home renovations, including having taken down paneling/drop ceiling in the nursery and sheetrocking everything. We can't finish sanding the spackle until after our kitchen and flooring reno, which started this past Friday.

Long story short, I won't be able to paint my nursery until at least the middle of next month. I'm dying.

Did you also use modge podge? Did you put it just under the scrapbook paper or on top of it too to seal it down? Did you spray paint the letters first?

I started my baby book, all that it has is one page with a spot waiting for the 4d scan picture. But I have the supplies to make the birthpage and/or the Christmas page. If LO is born on schedule or past due then the page will be one and the same. If he makes his debut a little early I will make a separate page.

@AnnH74 - the letters were wood so I painted them white first. Then I used mod podge to adhere the scrapbook paper to the letter (after tracing and cutting a general shape of each letter). After about 30 minutes I used an x-acto knife to cut closer to the letter and then more mod podge on top to seal. I used a gloss finish, but I think matte would work well too.

We are renting, so I used contact paper to make stripes on the wall behind the crib. Made the triangle bunting by cutting out the triangles from card stock and sewing them together. The flowers are tissue paper. And I made a ruffled crib skirt which I am no so bummed you can't even really see behind the base of the crib! The artwork I designed using Word then just printed out and framed. I would love to paint the crib and changing table, but hubby doesn't want to. Oh well! On to the next project!!!
