Contractions? Gas? Help!

FTM here, I'm experiencing a strang pain in my belly, it starts of sharp and kind of sustains that for a minute or two. It almost feels like gas pain but it is in my entire belly. I can feel baby moving but I'm wondering if this is what contractions feel like? I'm 34 weeks 2 days.

    Contractions will be at predictable intervals. Do a quick Google search for a better description of what they can feel like, but rest assured that when they start and it is the real deal, you will know and they will get closer together over time.

    Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions.

    I'm thinking Braxton hicks too, as there is no pattern and for now have subsided.

    Could be but like others said, the real deal will make itself known in consistency, time ability, and an increase in intensity. I've had crazy Braxton hicks with this pregnancy (35 weeks tomorrow) and Dr said they are only concerned if they are very painful and I'm getting more than 6 an hour :) never had them with my first or I didn't know so it's got me on edge!

    Not everyone experiences the same thing, but for me, contractions start off like a cramping pain and then get more intense until they peak and subside, taking anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute or more.  Glad they subsided on their own!  Sounds like your body is practicing!
