  • It does gets better for some. Mine lasted about 2 to 3 weeks. Then I was out of my funk. Take it one day at a time. If you don't feel yourself soon, reach out. Best of luck.
  • I was in a funk this time around for a good three weeks.
  • Mine lasted longer than I care to admit with my first baby. Most people seem to think two or three weeks is normal, if it goes for longer than that or you're getting into a dark place, please see your doctor. There are quite a few threads on here (search PPD, blues, depression etc), and loads of internet resources that give you useful ways of coping. Good luck, hope you feel better soon!
  • I was in a funk from week 1 - week 2. But I'm at the beginning of week 4 and feeling pretty good. I bought these green juices because I wasn't getting enough fresh food in my diet (it's just not quick) and I know it sounds silly but I think the extra vitamins / nutrients help. I just down a bottle of green juice everyday now to ensure I'm getting my greens. I also have more confidence getting stuff done around the house when my little gal is sleeping which makes me feel productive. Also, breastfeeding is becoming easier so that def helps. And I have also accepted the fact that I'm just not going to get sleep like I used to... Knowing and accepting this has helped me move past this "sleep deprived" phase and be thankful for other things.
  • I was feeling extremely emotional from about day 5 - 14. I'm 18 days into it now and feel pretty great! For a day or two there I literally just could NOT stop crying. Everything would set me off. For me at least, as a FTM, this is an ENORMOUS life change. We all expected it to some degree, but you can't prepare for it entirely. I couldn't wrap my head around how much I love her, how afraid I am of anything bad happening to her, how watching my husband with her made me fall in love with him even more, the responsibility of taking care of her forever....it's a lot of crazy ISH!! I hope you start to feel better. Sometimes I just had to tell myself that I knew it would get better the next day. Usually a good night's sleep will help, but we know we aren't lucky enough to have those now! If it lasts too long, definitely talk to your OB to get some help. Everyone does care!!
  • I was a wreck for two weeks. But what helped me was spending time just me and my son. No one else. The best thing I've ever done!

This!! No visitors for almost 9 days helped me a ton. I felt so much better. Just me and the baby and I ran around topless and didnt worry about what anyone thought I looked like or having to try to nurse real quick to let someone see her, which irritates the f*** out of me.
