Gender mix up?!!!

Has anyone else ever had a fear that the gender told in the 20 weekish ultrasound was wrong?? I have known since 20 weeks that I was having a girl and had no doubts about it, but for some reason at 36 weeks Im getting nervous that they were wrong. Of course I would be happy either way, but everything I have is for a girl. Anyone else had a fear about them getting gender wrong or do I just have pregnancy nerves?!!

I swore I was having a boy and the ultrasound very clearly showed a girl. I keep telling my mom that if there's ever a mix up its usually that they tell you girl and then surprise! It's a boy! And she says there is no doubt I'm growing a girl lol. I guess I just keep it in the back of my mind but we have mostly gender neutral stuff.

I'm 32 weeks and having the same fears/nerves but with a boy. I have a little girl already and she is two. I still have everything of hers so I wouldn't be in any bind or anything but I so want a boy and I know I'll love whatever gender it is, I'll be disappointed if the only ultrasound they did on me (they aren't wanting to take the time with me like they did the last time) turned out wrong.

I'm 36 weeks and I was told at 20 were definitely having a girl. I've had a couple ultrasounds since (I have them weekly now since I have GD), and I guess she's still a girl but I can't see anything.

We decorated the nursery pink and mint green, picked out a girl name, sold all DS's infant clothes and replaced them with girl clothes, and we're ready for a girl. So if we have a baby with a penis, his name is going to be Autumn and he's going to wear dresses!

Seriously, though, I've worried that they could have told me the wrong sex at 20 weeks, but the tech seemed pretty sure. I've heard of them being wrong, but I think they're usually right.

I actually just had a growth scan at my last appointment. I asked the tech to double check she's still a girl cuz my MIL is super paranoid. I wound up with the only pic being of her privates!

This just happened to a friend of my husband. She has a little boy, was told she was having a girl. Her family had an all pink shower for her and at 36 weeks she found out that the baby was actually another boy.

Ours really left no doubt about it being a boy, but I wanted a girl so bad that I would not be upset by a surprise. I joked w/ DH about what if we brought a girl home to this rather boy themed room (both the room and the clothes are reasonably gender neutral, and the wall color would have been the same regardless, but I had different dreams for a girl's room)

Meee ! Told at 20 weeks "80% it's a girl" then at 32 weeks there is scrotum on the ultrasound :-?

In the 20 weeks ultrasound nothing seen between the legs, not even the famous "burger" like shape of the female genitalia. Hence i've been told "80% it's a girl"

I am so afraid!!! At the 20 week my ultrasound lady just kept saying "I think... I think" when we asked if she saw the gender and we haven't had another ultrasound since! We had her write it in an envelope and she wrote "you're having a boy" so at least there was no I think in that but stillllll I want 100% hahaha

At my anatomy scan, the tech was like, "I checked about 5 times," and I've got a pretty clear pic of the "hamburger." I'm still a teensy bit paranoid though . . .

I got blood work for down syndrome and other tests and that's when they confirmed through the blood work that the ultrasound right before three months was right, did anyone else get this test??

We've joked about the possibility. If he comes out a girl we'll just add bows to everything. We have a ton of super hero stuff that we would have put on a girl anyway.

We found out through genetic testing, which is pretty much definite, so I'm not worried. And after that, at every ultrasound, they first ask us "Do you know what you're having?" And when we tell them "yes, a girl", every tech has said "yup! It's clear as day!" It's been confirmed about 4 times now.

But I know mistakes happen. If it does, it'll be annoying at first to deal with all different clothes and decoration of everything. But eventually it'll just be a funny story to tell him/her one day!

I was totally on this track of thinking when I had my first. I had been so convinced that my "gut" was telling me it would be a boy that my mom started telling my brother that she thought I was trying to fool the whole family into thinking it was a girl when really I knew it was a boy. DD came out just as they anticipated

This time around I quadruple checked with the u/s tech and he laughed and confirmed that it was indeed a boy this time. The odds of the sex being the opposite of what they told you are slim, so try to enjoy telling the story if you end up being in the small minority of those who have a child of the opposite sex from what you were told at your u/s.

A similar paranoia I have is a hidden twin a close friend of mine was a surprise twin. Her mom went through her whole pregnancy thinking there was only 1 boy in there. She had no clue there was a 2nd baby until she delivered the boy. Granted that was 23 years ago and the technical advances and practices are different now, but still freaks me out to think that could happen lol.

I had that test done as well. Thank God little one is healthy and I was told 99.4% Girl with no male chromosome.

Did you actually get to see the ultrasound? I have a photo, and there is no doubt my LO is a boy

I did! Found out the gender at 13 weeks lol.

I did an early ultrasound at 16 weeks & they said boy. The same with 20 weeks & I also had genetic bloodwork that confirmed boy but I go again next week & will have them double check to make sure! Lol

Aside from my 20-week anatomy scan where he showed off his boy parts, the gender was confirmed at my elective 3D/4D ultrasound at 27 weeks as well, and he also showed off his boy parts at my 31 week growth scan a few weeks ago. At this point I'd be VERY surprised if he turned out to be a girl

My son was a big time show-off. He gave us a very clear view of his boy parts at 19 weeks, and again at 30. There was no question.

I think it's more likely to think you're having a girl and it turns out it's a boy, but even so, ultrasound technology these days is much better than it used to be and these mistakes are rare.

My cousin's baby was supposed to be a girl based on the 20 week ultrasound. They didn't find out he was a boy until he was born! It was a huge surprise, so it happens. They aren't always 100 percent.

Oh my gosh! I have this fear all the time! Haha! I'm having a boy which is a little harder to mess up on and any time I get an ultrasound they tell me "he's still a boy!" but I think I will probably hold onto that irrational fear until he's born. Not that I wouldn't be happy either way

I always have this fear because I personally know people this has happened to. My first baby they said girl and she turned out to be a girl. But I did the anatomy scan later in the pregnancy. This one they are saying is a girl, but I had the scan at 20 weeks. They found the "hamburger" but I still can't help being paranoid. I'm happy though with another girl and I'll also be happy if it turns out to be a boy. No big deal to us, just means I'll have to go shopping for boy stuff!

I have 4 boys and have been told at least 8 times this is a girl, but I'm not selling my boy stuff until I see this little girl myself!
