Diaper Rash...ughh

What is the best remedy to get rid of diaper rash with sores...this sucker creeped up on us out of nowhere...it's only in the lining of his crack but now there is a sore and my lil guy is in obvious pain...wahhhh (insert the sound of a innocent baby crying....and his mama)!

Re: Diaper Rash...ughh

  • There was a good thread on diaper rash not to long ago. Search diaper rash and should come right up. It was specifically about bad diaper rash. I would post link but hard to do from mobile app for me.

Triple paste. It works wonders. Target sells it.
  • The only way I got rid of DDs horrid rash was blow drying her and patting dry, then putting on aquaphor and goldbond cornstarch babypowder.
  • Our pediatrician had us dab on some liquid maalox followed by a cream of choice. I found however that Aquaphor worked the best on the broken skin. I have read online that some will mix the two together and apply all at once.
  • All my kids got crazy butt rashes until this baby. I finally (4 kids later) switched to seventh generation brand diaper( I get them on Amazon) he started breaking out from huggies just like my other kids. With them I just changed them like crazy and put tea tree oil and powder on their butts. With him a little olive oil and a non bleached diaper and he's good to go!
  • Triple cream works wonders! It's pretty pricey but worth it. Also, some diaper free time will help.
  • Destin worked for us. I put it on after every diaper change until it cleared up.
  • I had previously posted this in another diaper rash discussion and I swear by it. Good luck mama!

My LO has an allergy to cows milk and his oor tushy broke out in a blister like rash. it was very upsetting. While changing him to soy formula, I tried everything to get rid of the rash. It was a lot of work, but I kept up with it, and within 6 days, the rash was completely gone.

    1. no wipes at all. I used the peri bottle they gave me in the hospital and I put a towel under him and squirted his tushy with the bottle and patted it dry with a towel and then fanned it until he was 100% dry.

2.Just like you, butt paste wasn't working so we tried Aveeno baby. it worked great.

3.Oatmeal bath. I used the unflavored, plain quick oats, 3/4 a cup, boiled it with water, let it cool cown, and let LO sit in it in his tub for about 5 mintes every night.

4.naked time as much as possible

5.Put baking soda on his tushy once a day to help dry it out.

this worked for us and I really hope it can be some kind of help for you. It was a lot of work but it was so worth having that rash vanish. I know how upsetting it can be. Best of luck!

Always hold on to hope ❤
  • Triple Paste 1000%
  • We weren't dealing with a really bad rash, but our DD had a red bum after we used diaper wipes on her (Live Clean brand). We switched over to cloth wipes and made this solution which we just spray on and wipe off. It works wonders and her skin looks great!

  • Thanks everyone!!
  • I creeped on this post for suggestions as well. Seems like triple paste is good stuff. I'm going to do most of the suggestions on here. Good luck OP and thanks for asking the question! (Can't search topics on my phone for some reason)
  • Triple paste! That stuff will cure a diaper rash in a day, no joke! Also aquaphor works pretty well. Just make sure it's not a yeast rash, that would need a different type of cream to heal.
Team Pink! Baby Girl due 8.2.15
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • Haven't had diaper rash yet but my friend swears by Pinxav... You can find it on Amazon.
  • I second the yeast thing.. Make sure it's not yeast, you'll need some nystatin or something.
