DS so far has been EBF (except for a few bottles of breastmilk here and there). When he takes a bottle he will burp several times, but normally when BFing, he won't. I still try, just in case but nothing ever happens. Until yesterday. Ever since yesterday, he's been burping up a storm, even when BFing. It doesn't really make sense to me since I don't have air in my boobs and my diet hasn't changed at all. I guess maybe he could be eating too fast and sucking air too? He has been fussier than normal and gassier in general. He will fuss, strain, pass gas, and then he's fine. It's the weirdest thing that it just changed overnight like that. I did buy him some gas relief drops bc I remember them working with DD and they do seem to help.
Anyone have any advice? Have you made any diet changes to help gassy babies? I'm more than willing to, I'm just not sure what to cut out. I don't eat anything spicy or hot and I don't eat/drink a lot of dairy products.
Thanks for any help!
Re: Burping?
For helping relieve the gas this series of colic massage videos on youtube was actually decently helpful. I'm linking one of them but it is a multi-part series so you'll have to search out the rest if you want to see them. This is my second baby, and I feel really bad I don't think I was doing some of them right with my older daughter cause they really seem to help my second daughter a lot. I did them before bed last night right after a warm bath, she tooted about 15 times, pooped and passed out. I had to wake her up to eat after 5 hours which is crazy long for her. I've started doing some of them just before every diaper change today, and she just passed out on her own a few minutes ago. I had sat her down to go to the bathroom, came back, and she was asleep. Its like magic :P
