Disconnect the doorbell.

I have a neighbor with a 6 year old daughter who is constantly ringing my doorbell looking for my goddaughter. My goddaughter hasn't lived with me since February and despite my attempts at explaining this, she continues to ring the doorbell and ask if she is there. Yesterday it was during a peaceful nap on the couch, which are sadly almost nonexistent these days.!So, on my way to the hospital, the doorbell will be disconnected in an effort to prevent a rage blackout on whomever dares to wake me or a sleeping infant when we get home :)

Other things I hope to do before baby comes:

-oil change on my car
-one last hair trim
-heck, maybe even a pedicure!
-a couple of freezer meals if I'm feeling ambitious
-maybe some maternity pictures

What are you ladies hoping to get in during the last few weeks?!

Re: Disconnect the doorbell.

  • Haircut and freezer meals for sure. Would love a pedicure but would settle for a nail trim and getting the polish off!

Could we request that they do the trim and pedicure simultaneously? Time is of the essence!!! Hahaha :))
  • Haircut, color, pedicure. Freezer meals? Maybe. But my biggest regret when I had my son is that I never did get a pedicure - I was planning to the day he was born and was sent to the hospital instead!

  • For some reason our doorbell has never worked since we bought our house. My grandpa came by recently and was telling me I needed to fix it....I thought, nah...I'll just let it stay broken.

I also desperately need a hair cut and I'm with @satori15, with just getting the old polish off of my nails!

In all seriousness, I have given myself until 36 weeks (2 more) to get my organizing projects crossed off of my list.
  • I have a list of actual household things to get done, but I currently get weekly manis & bi weekly pedis, have a bikini wax scheduled and a haircut/blowout the day before my c section! I figure since I won't be going through labor I can look as nice as possible in pictures :) Hopefully DH will be better at finishing the more labor intensive things!
  • Finish organizing baby stuff
    Pack my hospital bag
    Make some soups to freeze
    Get a prenatal massage
    Maybe a pedicure
Establish a routine for home and school so I don't go completely crazy when the baby comes lol. Only halfway crazy.
  • Get my hair did...grays are getting crazy, pedi, pack my hospital bag, get group lists in my phone for baby arrival messages, get rest of baby room together, baby shower thank yous done and mailed....only problem is I have no motivation!

I wish I knew when would be a good time to get a wax.... I don't want to get it too early and defeat the purpose, but I also want enough time after for the redness/irritation to calm down. Not that it matters... It's going to get red/irritated anyway, haha!

Well, I have the benefit of a scheduled c section! I just really didn't want to have to recover from surgery and have a super itchy bikini line from a quick shave by the nurse
  • My door bell has been broken since we moved in as well, and we won't be fixing it. My dog barking at the singing mailman everyday is enough!

    -Finish organizing baby's room
-Clean out and organize office for my mom to sleep in
-complete as much laundry as possible so it's not in piles from the get go
    -make hubby clean the garage
    -pack hospital bag
    -pack diaper bag
-make sure we are stocked up on cat/dog food

I don't want to leave the house for a while so I am just checking to make sure I have household things and I won't need to leave. My hubby can bring home any extras after work if need be but I'll be home on my own since he won't have paternity leave at all.

  • We just renovated the exterior of our home this summer and actually covered up the doorbell with the new siding since it was not something that we use. I love being doorbell-less! Plus we have two dogs that let us know when someone is at our house anyway.

    -Finish packing hospital bag
-Last bits of organizing for baby's room (all of the extra hand-me-downs need to be packed up and stored or donated)
    -A pedicure would be nice
-Order breast pump 30 days prior to EDD
    -Assemble stroller
    -Install car seat

I have a sign that we hang on the door from my son that says you wake him you take him. Once a pizza man rang our doorbell at 9:30, when we didn't order pizza and our address is clearly posted across our door and my husband went off on the guy and screamed can't you read we have a sleeping baby in the house and we didn't order any f***ing pizza. I was so happy it was me going off on him.

I want to get a haircut, a pedicure, and a massage. I also need to finish getting my sons room set up so I can get him out of the nursery. Nothing like waiting til the last minute.
  • I have been so focused on getting stuff done around the house and for the baby that I kinda forgot about doing stuff for me! The haircut, manis, and pedis all sound like really good ideas. I'll have to add those to my lists.
