this may seem silly but I washed my moby (With my last baby) & let it hang dry prior to use with my little one. I just got a boba wrap & an ergo is on its way to me ($60 on zulily!) do you momma's plan on washing your carriers... or is my OCD kicking in a lil too much

Re: Washing carriers/wraps...

  • I got a k'tan and was wondering the same thing!

  • I washed my k'tan before I used it with my son and several times while I used it with him. I'll will wash it again before LO arrives. I've only ever spot treated our baby Bjorn and ergo.
  • Wow, well done on that Ergo sale!
I washed my Moby when it was new before using it with DS when he was a newborn, but I popped my Ergo carrier out of the box and used it right away.  I think either way is fine, I'm planning on just spot-cleaning my Ergo to use again this time around.

  • Idk if I will wash K'tan first.. Don't want it to be stiff if line dry, and shrink if dryer. Don't plan to use without at least a onesie on baby so I think I'll wait until it has to be washed. Bjorn I will just spot clean sinces it's cloth and mesh.
  • I washed Moby and have had to wash the Bjorne in the past (diaper blow-out). Ergo I'm leaving alone but I wouldn't be scared to wash it if I had to. I'm pretty OCD about these things too. I'd say wash it if it makes you feel better.
  • I don't think that I washed my ergo before I used it, but when did wash it, I just threw it in the washer on the delicate setting and put it in the dryer on air only (I know our dryer doesn't use any heat on the air o lay setting) and it was fine. It did take a really long time to dry, though.
