Birthdate: 9/6
Due Date: 9/13
Weight: 7lbs 8oz
Length: 19.5 inches

First contraction hit at noon while driving. Had just left the park from a short walk. Labored at home (stm) so I know the deal. Went to the hospital around midnight once the contractions got crazy.

Some idiot doctor told me I was dehydrated and not in labor. I unleashed the Dragon on him. He makes me wait an hour out of spite and gives me a cervix check. Tells me Im not dialated. I called BS. I can feel a cramp when my cervix is bumped (you know what i mean) and I didnt feel a damn thing when he checked me. He was basically trying to get rid of me. So I asked for another person to check. She does and i was 7 friggun centimeters.

Anyhoo, after waiting another hour for the dr to arrive on the scene I was brought to the birthing room and given an epidural at 8 centimeters. The contractions were double spiking by then. And once again, same as with my first, the epidural only numbed the left side of my body. Hilarious...yet not. Even worse I was only allowed a small dose because my blood pressure is so low. Anesthesiologist later told me that I have a very slight case of scoliosis and that my spine is aligned differently. Wow, I have a deformity.

An hour later Im fully dilated. Nurse told me to call her when I feel the urge to push. About 10 minutes later i felt a burn from hell along with the urge to release the largest poop load you can imagine. It felt like something was "in there". Hubby grabs nurse. Nurse grabs doctor. Hubby grabs left leg. Nurse grabs right leg. They all yell PUSH!!! And 10 minutes later a baby popped out. True story.

Oh, Sorry for any typos. Im still here and hubby is watching cnn and Sarah palin's annoying voice is distracting me. I asked to be released early so we shall see. As soon as she popped out i was ready to go. I feel great!! Baby girl is great! She's next to me now looking like a little burrito. *Knock on wood*

And finally, i never posted this here but i was at risk of losing my baby girl at 22 weeks. To think she made it to FULL TERM, blows my mind. I am beyond elated. I was one of the mom's praying that my baby "cooked" just a bit longer. Every day was a milestone. Cherish this moment. Good luck! Positive light and energy to you all!!

  • Hope they let you go home early! My third baby (and last hospital birth) they offered me early discharge.

My fourth was born at a birth center and I had the option to stay but we went home about two hours after his birth and I slept in my own bed (bliss!!!).

I'm so happy for you and that baby girl made it to full term.

  • I absolutely adore your story! Lol congrats momma and way to go for being your own advocate. I'm amazed at how quickly things went for you. I hope my experience as far as that goes similar. I hope that other doctor get his! What a jerk!
  • Congrats mama! just have to add, your post had be cracking up- especially the part about Sarah Palin's voice and unleashing the "dragon," lol.
  • Haha this was an awesome birth story. Congratulations, hope you get to go home and be comfortable :)
  • I love your birth story!  So, so happy for you!
  • You're awesome! So funny too!! Your kids are lucky to have a tough mom like you! Nobody ever try to mess with your family- you'll have to unleash the dragon again! Haha greatness! Thanks for this story, very fun to read and envision. You rock.
  • Btw what's the little burrito's name?
  • One of the best birth stories thus far. I hate it when doctors tack something to dehydration when you know your body and it's something else, good for you for "unleashing the dragon" he deserved it! Congrats, and hope that you are back home!
  • Lmao!!! Love ur story!!! So funny!!!
Congratulations on making to the end! Where's the pic of the beautiful princess?
  • Oh my gosh. Please tell me that doctor didn't deliver you. You may have to "accidentally" kick him in the head, or poop in him ;) glad you have your reward here. What a gift. Congratulations!
  • Congratulations!!! :) And that doctor is an ass.
  • Lol!! Congratulations! My epidurals for both my kids only worked on my left side, too! I thought it was just me. How bizarre, glad to hear I'm not alone!
