2nd Trimester

Symptoms worsening

I'm 14 weeks and over the past 2 weeks I've noticed that whilst I'm not having nausea every day, the days that I do have it it's much more intense! Sometimes all day and I just can't get rid of it. Also I'm soooo tired. I felt tired from time to time in my first trimester but I'm definitely noticing it more now. I just want to sleep again not long after I wake up. Is anyone else having worse symptoms? I've read they were meant to get better around this point. Thanks!

The same thing happened to me around 14 weeks. It's almost like I had to get worse before I could get better. Hopefully this is a positive sign you're on your way out of the tunnel of morning sickness!

Edit to add: if you lurk around or do a search, you will see a lot of ladies had the same experience.

  • I haven't had any morning sickness thank god. However, I can speak on the tiredness. I am constantly tired. I wake up and 30 minutes later I'm ready to go back to sleep. I take a nap a few times a day sadly. I don't remember being this tired before but then again I had my daughter 5 years ago.
  • Some women can have morning sickness all throughout their pregnancy.
  • Thanks ladies. Hopefully over the coming weeks it'll settle down a bit
  • If you're feeling exhausted you should get your doctor to do some bloodwork and check your iron levels. I was drop dead tired first trimester and beginning of second due to low blood iron and taking supplements has saved me, I'm 20 weeks now and can actually function. Apparently low iron is super common in pregnancy so I'd check into that if you find you're really exhausted all the time, feel better soon!
  • Yea that whole extra energy thing is a lie. As well as MS ending after first trimester. I am much more fatigued now at 24 weeks and still have nausea every morning. The days I do end up vomiting are the worst days. It's rather unfortunate... But now that I see my bump growing and I feel my baby's kicks, I'm 100% okay with it. First trimester was harder in the fact that I had to hide my pregnancy and the symptoms.
  • I feel the same. With my first two I was feeling much better by 11-12 weeks. This one has been a long drawn out battle of morning sickness, migraines and extreme exhaustion. I am almost 15 weeks and it is not letting up. I get maybe 2-3 days a week that I feel halfway decent. The rest of the time I am worthless. I really hope it lets up soon!
  • I found it easier to vomit around this time and i'd need to have lunchtime or afternoon naps or i'd be exhausted.

Its quite normal and i found out a few days ago i'm likely having a girl which explains my bad bouts of vomiting especially long distances
  • I had nausea, and vomiting even, at 14 weeks. I'm 25 weeks now, and sometimes wake up nauseous, and have throw up a few times off and on, since I was 23 weeks. :-S A lot of women do in fact go through this, though!
