I use a warm washcloth with Johnson's baby wash every morning & night. DS is really good at letting me get at his neck. I sometimes have to dangle a toy behind DD's head for her to give me decent access.
I put some Mustela on a cotton round and do it while changing his diaper. He gets ticklish and giggles.. Though now I'm considering doing it during tummy time since his neck is nice and extended!
DD has a mesh ramp she lays on in the tub. I just put her soap on my fingers and rub them in the neck foods gently. Works well to get it all
When do they grow out of the mesh ramp? My DDs poor little legs are all bent because she wraps her feet at the end like a monkey, I'm afraid one day she's going to push off and hurt her head. It definitely doesn't look comfortable but I don't think she can sit up unassisted in it yet.

DS is the same way and he actually has pushed himself back a few times and hit his head!!!! We now bath with a towel on the head side of the tub to act as a cushion just in case he does it again. I've been tempted to put the mesh thing in the big tub and just do his bath there. But I also like not having to kneel

I've been putting the mesh ramp in the big tub for two months now! Total pain to kneel over the tub but DS loves having the space to splash around like crazy. He's moving so much that he actually slides right down the ramp now so my next move with probably just be a rolled up towel under his head (that's what we do if we bathe him anywhere else).

We took the mesh thing out about 2 weeks ago. DS' feet were hanging off it. They sit in the infant bathtub just fine - it is reclined so even though they don't have great neck control yet, it still works. They love being more immersed in the water now!

This is the tub we have, I tried w/o the sling last night, the little seat insert is sitting behind the tub in the picture. She arched her back and her butt went over the insert and she almost went underwater, scared the crap out of both of us. Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things but I think we will leave the mesh insert in for a little while longer.

Oh no! My DD does that occasionally too. It is pretty scary. Requires a very close eye on her. We have one side reclined and one just a straight-up seat. We had to move her to the straight-up side last night so she couldn't do that. My DS just hangs out like a good boy in the reclined seat thankfully.
