Labor day weekend chat

Jealous of you ladies back in the US who are getting that last weekend of sun in!

It's 65F here... stuck in London traffic hell but on the way to see an international rugby match between England and Ireland.... This is before the 4 sets of tickets we have to the world cup over the next 2 months. As someone who is working with England2015 on logistics of delivering the games I will be making notes on bathroom facilities available from park and ride to Twickenham... you know as I have to go on the hour without fail

Post any pics of beaches/lakes/bbq so.I can live vicariously!

    I will happily trade you! It's only 9:15 and it's already 80 degrees here in the wonderful south ;) We don't really have any plans besides staying cool and eating a lot lol!

    @ecmb was a great match- England looked a heck of a lot more functional than against France! Second half was all second string except for Mike Brown.... because he is the magical Mike Brown and does anything

    DH is in the military and not in a field that gets holidays/weekends off. His work cycle just so happens to fall so that he works this "4 day weekend." :( Nothing exciting going on here. If it wasn't 95 degrees out, we would go to the park or something. We really should have gone to the pool. It's the last weekend that it's open. Sigh, it's just not worth it. It's always flippin crowded and today will be no exception.

    Today is a hot muggy one here too 87 degrees is beyond my threshold for tolerance (I'm a wimp when it comes to the heat). I'm trying to get some housework done, but all I really want to do is nap with ds on the couch. Tomorrow and Monday I have potluck bbqs so at some point I need to make something. Otherwise it is a quiet weekend for us too.

    We drove up to Chicago from Kansas City to visit some friends who had a baby last month. We will stay for the weekend and then head back on Monday.

    It's a chilly, rainy weekend in the Pacific Northwest so I am happily enjoying the start of college football on the couch with DH. I love fall!! Unfortunately we will be back in the 80's by the middle of next week, so its a good thing I picked up a pair of maternity capris!

    Our inlaws are visiting for the weekend ! It has been nice , they own a second home behind ours for when they visit so we can host them but they have their own space , it is actually perfect . They woke up to a broken AC system and had to drop 6K on a whole new unit... I did my best to take their minds off of it with snacks and college football . Unfortunately I have some calls I have to take Sunday/Monday with India but it shouldn't be too bad ! Overall the weekend is a win.. Just like Seminole Football.. ;)

    Went to our camper. Got sunburned. Have to work tomorrow...BUT we are finally telling a family member tomorrow at dinner so I'm stoked. I've gone 9 weeks without telling a soul

    Dh is fishing today so I have the boys so he's taking them all day tomorrow so I can sleep. So excited for my day in bed.

    ACleanLife24: a threshing bee is usually when a group of people get together to help a farmer get his harvest in. This particular one is a group of farmers that get together on "labor day" and use old fashioned, horse drawn machines to cut, thresh and move the grain. Its a pretty neat historical picture of what it used to be like. My brother and I operate a 4th generation wheat farm and do it to honor our great-grandfather and grandfathers way of life.

    jnhuri : Where in the PNW are you from? I'm in the INW and we are going to get to the mid 80's middle of the week too but it looks like its going to be short lived. We just pulled our AC today because its been getting so chilly at night and we are holding out on turning the furnace on. I will be surprised if it stays this cool the rest of September since we are usually pretty warm until October. But then again this has been a very weird season for us all.

    I'm in southern Cali and can't wait until it gets cold. It's been at its highest 108 and barely at its lowest at 91 just the other day. I'm ready for fall and winter.

    95F and humid here in Iowa today. We rode our bikes to the playground this morning, and I had to stand in the shade chugging water the whole time. Thunderstorm watch with potential tornadoes tonight! Welcome to the Midwest! However, we are loving a last Summer hurrah dinner complete with BBQ ribs, fresh green beans, cornbread and blueberry crisp. The crisp is cooling as I type this...smells so good! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies!!

    No fun here for me. I am still pretty nauseous and now my son and I both have really bad colds and my husband is traveling for worm. We will probably just cuddle up here and watch a movie tomorrow.

    @Swillah - I live in Eastern Washington so more Inland Northwest but if people are not familiar with the area, when you tell people you live in WA state they automatically assume you live in Seattle...

    It's so hot I don't want to do anything! Yesterday we took DD to the park and there were no benches in the shade so I rolled DD's stroller under a tree, removed the food tray, and sat in it while DH chased her around the playground! Then I watched movies all afternoon from the comfort of my air conditioned couch...
