Formula Q: Switching between two brands?

Hello! At home we feed baby Similac Sensitive. He will be starting at a new daycare next week and they supply formula, but they use the Sam's Club alternative of Similac. We do not have a Sam's membership (nor do we need/want one) so as of now we can't purchase the same formula. Does anyone know if it's ok for LO to have one brand at daycare and a different one at home (assuming he'll take both with no issues)? I called his pedi but didn't hear back today. Since it's a holiday weekend I'm sure I won't hear by Tuesday morning when I drop him off. Should I send our formula with him? Go get a Sam's membership? Or just try it and see how it goes? Is consistency important? Thanks in advance!

  • I would personally stick with your brand until you hear back from your Dr. At least send some he's used to because that would be horrible If you didn't and he wouldn't eat what they have.

  • I use two brands sometimes. No biggie
  • Sam's Club alternative Similac Sensitive or Similac regular formula? If the same as Similac Sensitive, then I would try it. If regular Similac Formula, then I would send the sensitive until LO is at least 4 months old.
  • I have no personal experience but my ped said that switching a lot could cause an upset tummy.
