Gtky: Your favorite season/region

Ok just wanted to get a discussion going that wasn't pregnancy related :) Hopefully liven up the board just a little!
What is everyone's favorite season and part of the U.S. and why?
My favorite is either the Smoky mountains or Seattle.... Both are so beautiful and I love the mountains! Here in Seattle we have so much access to such amazing, fresh food - I love that... Lots of opportunity to buy direct from local farmers.
My favorite season is summer! It's warm and sunshiney, I feel so happy! I'm naturally low on Vitamin D too, so another reason sunshine makes me feel so great. If we have a nice breeze to accompany the sunshine it's even better ;) unfortunately this summer has been a little TOO warm and dry, and there have been terrible fires with lost homes and businesses. :( So sad!!
How about everyone else??

Re: Gtky: Your favorite season/region

  • Hi! I'm Alysse. I live in Texas, where seasons don't exist. Really it's just levels of heat. I've never called anywhere else home, but I do love to travel. My husband and I got married last November and went to Breckenridge, CO for our honeymoon. We were expecting lots of snow and to be able to ski, but they didn't have enough on the ground while we were there. That being said, my favorite season is late fall and winter. I don't have the joy of seeing leaves change colors, and here they don't every completely fall off the trees. But I absolutely love when it's cold and crisp outside! I absolutely love Colorado. Anywhere with mountains calls my name!

  • I love spring! I haven't been a ton of places so I guess I will have to go with the New England region. It's so nice to see the snow melt!

  • I love the North Carolina and Virginia mountains.  I don't live in the mountains, but I enjoy riding the Blue Ridge Parkway to look at the leaves or going up to Hanging Rock State Park and looking at the leaves.  I love fall and winter.  I love cooler/colder temps.  I hate snow though.  I like to see it falling and I love how pretty it looks but that is about it. Here snow shuts just about everything down and people cannot drive in it (present company included).   I hate spring (pollen makes my allergies go nuts and I usually end up with a sinus infection and miserable) and I hate summer (I hate sweating and I am very hot natured).  I love fall though and I love winter.  I love the leaves changing, the cool crisp temperatures, the pumpkin flavored everything that comes out, the candles that come out , etc.  And I love winter because it is cold and cozy and Christmas is my favorite holiday and it is in winter.  Okay that was a lot of rambling lol
