Pregnant after IF

FET transfer from same IVF cycle that resulted in successful pregnancy?

I am a few weeks out from my due date after becoming pregnant with a fresh IVF cycle. We do have two embryos that are frozen and I was just curious if anyone had success twice from the same cycle. We are not going to wait longer than a year before we try to implant the frozen embryos due to my age (37). I would love to hear success stories related to this because I want so badly not to have to go through the whole process of a fresh cycle again. I know that sounds bad but it was so hard due the closest infertility doctor being 2.5 hours away.

Re: FET transfer from same IVF cycle that resulted in successful pregnancy?

  • I had success with a FET. We had to do genetic testing so a fresh transfer wasn't an option. My clinic told me frozen transfers have an even higher success rate because your uterus hasn't recently gone through an IVF retrieval. Good luck!

  • We got pregnant with out fresh cycle and the embryo split, but split incorrectly, causing us to lose both babies. Our doctor said it was rare for them to split. We then did a frozen cycle several months later and both embryos took.
Our doctor told us that had our first embryo not split, she believed we would have had a healthy pregnancy.

  • My FETnqas my successful one! At my clinic they had a higher succes rate with frozen than fresh. I think it is because they had a fairly aggressive approach for retrieval and also only froze good quality embryos. They said the body was less pumped up on a frozen and that is why they had such high success. I was also told it depends on the freezing technique or technology, that some clinic really do well with that hence the higher success rates. I think it's really worth asking your clinic for their specific results as now a days frozen is for sure not a less successful option but will largely depend on the practice of your clinic
  • Due to mild OHSS from IVF, we never had a fresh cycle. I am almost 37 weeks from my first (and only so far) FET.

  • I did 3 fresh transfers one resulting in a chemical pregnancy. My 4th was a freeze all and we did an FET a month later. That was the one that worked. From what I hear FET's have a better success rate.

  • My fresh one didn't work but both FET worked.
  • Fresh worked - transferred 2 and had a son. Just did frozen with only 1 embryo and currently 6 weeks along!
  • @Justone13 would you mind explaining to me what the symptoms of a chem pregnancy are? I'm so confused and I think I just had one... Did your betas rise? Did you spot or bleed at all im sorry for prying into your life im just so lost right now and I'm just trying to figure out what went wrong for me :( Thank you in advance for responding XoXo
  • Fresh cycle resulted in my perfect little boy! A year and a half later we did an FET and I got pregnant, but unfortunately it was ectopic. 2 months later and we did another FET and I'm 29 weeks pregnant with a little girl!! So it is absolutely possible to have success!! :)
  • I really think embryo quality matters above all else, but many have had success with FET. Our fresh gave us DS. Two frozen embies next try (two years later), chemical. Last frozen attempt resulted in ectopic. Good luck to you!

  • I had two fresh cycles both ending in a BFN
We recently had our First FET with two still frozen and we got a BFP. Currently 4 weeks & 6 days. I'm the same age as you blairbecky78, and we won't wait much more that a year to try again either.
  • After two IVF's and 2 FET's we have 3 left frozen. My progesterone and HCG low. Started injections of both 4 days before last FET as well as the Estracd and Endometrian going on at the same time. If levels look good of both I will have to continue the injection for 10 weeks. Any thoughts on what else to do to increase progesterone and HCG so FET can work?
  • I did one fresh cycle which resulted in a baby girl in June 2014. Just did a FET from the same cycle as the previous and I am 7 weeks pregnant and feel incredibly lucky. So, yes it can happen! Best wishes to you.

  • Hi,
I have a 7 yr old daughter from a fresh cycle and then 2 surprised miracle pregnacies which were both girls, so 4 and 2 now, and now on the second FET i'm pregnant.
    I'm 40 yrs old.
  • Hi, everyone... I had my first IVF procedure about 8 years ago and was unsuccessful.. However, we were able to get 8 eggs.. At that time I was so worried about money etc. IVF is very costly and not to mention emotional roller coaster... I decided to take a long break...
Well, here it is 2015 and I had my ET transfer in April... Two week wait is tortuous... But I'm Blessed to say, I am 43 years old 27 weeks pregnant and my little Joy is doing great...
If can encourage anyone to always have faith and believe miracles do happen....
