I am currently 11 weeks pregnant (first time) and having nervous/anxious feeling in my stomach that I can't shake. I am not thinking about anything that is making me anxious or having anxious thoughts...it is LITERALLY just the feeling with no thoughts associated with it...almost like butterflies before you have your first date or when you have to speak in front of a big crowd...is this normal? Does anyone else feel this? Just to be clear I have NO anxiety/depression and I am not worrying about the child/pregnancy or anything associated with the pregnancy. It is completely random.
Re: Anxiety During Pregnancy
Sometimes it's a reason (panic attack over loss of passport/ID) and other times DH and blame it on the impending bee colony collapse (running joke from a TV show which we can't remember which)
I hope it ends for you soon because I know how you're feeling. Best of luck!!
So I talked to my friend who is a nurse and she said that it could just be gas or my digestive system changing. Because it's definitely not a panic attack. My heart isn't beating faster and I don't feel dizzy or anything...it is literally just butterflies in my tummy. It's weird. But I guess you go through a lot of changes when you're pregnant so gas feels different. Kind of embarrassing...
It's a risk vs benefits situation. I am bipolar & have terrible anxiety. In my first pregnancy & with this one my OB weaned me off of my mood stabilizer but kept me on my anti-anxiety medication to take as needed. It's a personal preference whether to even seek prescription therapy, however it has been drilled in my head by professionals that "if momma ain't happy, baby ain't happy".
Either way it is common and I wish you luck!
