Trouble TTC

Introducing myself (loss mentioned)

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site so wanted to introduce myself.
We attempted this journey over 3 years ago. After having my mierna removed we had a bfp before my first af. As soon as we found out I was six weeks we had a mc. Follow that up with three more mc everytime we were given a green light. My progesterone level could never hold it. Then I started getting really sick and had no clue why. After an exploratory surgery we found out I had several fibroids that my normal ob couldn't remove safely. So we found one who could and had a myomectomy. We were going to start ttc again but I was accepted into nursing school (in my 30s). We said enough was enough because I was not handling it all emotionally very well.
Now here we are in my last semester jumping on this crazy train again. I'm terrified of how I will handle the first mc if it starts again. So I thought who better then others dealing with the same issues and not feel like I'm the only person in the world who has these problems. So here is where I'm at in my first new round of ttc with a history of problems.
Mirena removed 8/19
US performed to confirm no new fibroids.
Af arrived 8/23 (first one since being placed).
Clomid 50 mg cd 3-7 : this was the next step 3 years ago.
Currently at cd 10.
I'm scheduled to start progestrone suppository 3 dpo. I will not have a trigger shot at all. So I'm charting bbt, cm, opk and meds. I'm on baby aspirin, prenatal vitamins, and mucinex. The official diagnosis is luteal phase defect so I'm trying to be proactive from the start.

So I'm officially on the I hate you clomid train. I had massive headaches and the hot flashes made me contemplate putting the deep freeze in the bedroom so I could sleep in it. But if it helps I guess I will deal with it.

Re: Introducing myself (loss mentioned)

  • Welcome! This is a very supportive community, and hopefully it will help ease the heavy emotions that come with this journey. And I'm sorry for your losses. I hope this time the Clomid and progesterone make all the difference, it sounds like that's what you needed :) if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask here.

I wish I could give you some of my progesterone, I get super high bbts and very hot in the 2WW. I'm definitely a blanket girl and I usually have to use just a sheet. Last year when I interviewed for my job, my face was red through the whole thing- it looked like I was blushing hardcore, ugh! So I hear ya on the hot flashes. At O time I'm all headaches and acne instead. Oh the joys of TTC!

  • Osteoblastic~ Thanks for the welcome. I hope that's all it takes. That is hilarious you appeared to be blushing the whole interview. Must have worked for your interview though. Headaches and acne sounds like such a good time for making you want to bd.
  • Yep, my husband tries to pull the whole "I hear it's good for headaches..." thing and gets a glare :p

  • That's a rough ride, I just graduated college last year so I know your pain in that area. We started TTC right before I graduated.
Hang tough! We can do this, we are just taking the scenic route :)

  • The scenic route... I love that :) I'll have to remember that one. We're gathering up little experiences that our future little ones want/need us to have before they get here. That's more comforting.

  • I've been on the other side of that conversation. "We tried for 6 years. I remember getting out of the bed and standing on my head." Thanks for sharing mom! I really wanted to know all about the bding you and dad did to get me.
