Is it safe to take melatonin? Some have said yes and some has said no. I have so much trouble falling asleep and staying asleep at night and melatonin is the only thing that helps.. Has anyone taken it during their pregnancy?
I was taking as much as 5mg per night at one point (not when pregnant). I gradually worked down. At this time, I am taking 1/4 of a 3mg tablet (so 0.75mg). I just can't sleep without it. Try going down gradually - but there may be a point at which you can't go down anymore. I am personally convinced due to my history that I don't make enough melatonin on my own and using it is better for me than not - but maybe I'm only convinced of that because I like being able to sleep!
