Update: Good news!

I went for an ultrasound last Wednesday after some serious cramping and brown spotting.  My hcg was 8,000 and based on my last period, I should have been 6w 5d.  At the ultrasound, they saw a a small, empty gestational sac.  No fetal pole, no heartbeat.  I was panicked and heartbroken.  They told me it was too early to see anything.  Later that afternoon, I started bleeding bright red blood and knew it was over.  I cried and cried and cried. But the bleeding stopped almost immediately.    Even though I tried not to, I couldn't help scouring the boards here and the general internet trying to calculate my "odds" of being ok. And then I started reading the nightmare stories about the pain of the drugs you may choose to take when you miscarry and the cost of a D&C. I was also really worried because I knew when we last did the BD, so I knew the conception date couldn't be much later than we originally thought.  The past week has been agony.  And to make matters worse, I fell on Monday and sprained my ankle.
  I went in today with my DH and we saw a heartbeat!  My little bean measured 6w 4days.  The relief and joy I feel today is amazing.  I am also humbled to be pregnant and have deep sympathy for those who have been in my shoes but whose results were not positive.  Sending love and positive thoughts to all the women on these boards--those whose pregnancies are going smoothly, those who have experienced a loss, and those TTC.
