First time mommy<3

When should I start our baby registry? My family wants to do a baby shower for me and my wife in December. Should we wait another month or longer to do our registry or start setting it up now?

Re: First time mommy<3

• You can start whenever you want. It's nice to start a little early and do some research for the bigger items before you make a decision.

• Mine was started towards the end of the 1st trimester as a list for my sake to know what we needed. I have added some smaller "gift-able" things that we need so that when it's shower time I can share the link and have it all be ready!
• I started mine shortly after finding out baby is a boy and its complete now. Now I have to start getting my list of people done.
• I like to do a lot of research, so we've already started our's.

• I've already done mine through Target. Like a PP said mine acts as a list for myself too, because I don't expect to get everything or even close to that off the registry. I added everything I wanted and needed because then when Target sends out the 15% off coupon about 8 weeks before due date, I can use that on everything that's left that I need. I also use the registry for its extended return policy. I have tons of diapers on my registry and when there's a promo or sale I buy them myself and scan my own registry, this way if we need to return them because we have leftovers and move up in size or any other reason I can return them under my registry : )
• I haven't started yet and I know I need to. It's a good idea to get started once you find out the sex, but maybe make it your goal to complete it by the time your shower invites go out. You'll likely want to change things for a few weeks after you start it as you do more research.
• Thank you everyone for all the advice we have done some research but not a lot but everyone had great advice and we really appreciate all the advice we can get with UA be first timers lol
• I highly recommend buying the Baby Bargains book (you can buy it on Amazon for ~$11). They rate the baby products and give you advice on what to buy and also how to save money. We used the book to put together our entire registry. As a FTM I would've been lost without it!
