First Trimester - lack of patience and sense of humour

Hello everyone, I am 7 weeks pregnant and I have been feeling especially sensitive lately. It seems like I have lost my sense of humour. Things my partner says seems to irritate me. I either dont find it funny at all or in my head wish he wouldnt be so crude. Does anyone else feel this way with their partner who can have a crude sense of humour, is it normal?

  • Hi, yes I feel the same way. Just in general not happy even though I am so happy this is all happening. I find myself less patient with people in stores etc, not the usual me at all. I think our bodies are just adjusting to an overload of hormones. Plus I am super tired and just think I am cranky! I have been rewatching Friends from the very first season, it's fun and it's makes me laugh. Maybe give funny movies or tv shows a try until this rough stage passes, it will feel good to laugh! Hang in there!

  • It's the hormones. I am usually a friendly person well now if I'm not crying hysterically, I am being mean and bitchy for no reason. My husband likes it to a certain degree because he is tired of me "letting others walk over me" and my family hates it. To check myself and my behaviors I try to engage in an enjoyable activity mainly watching Grey's Anatomy reruns but it doesn't always help. I just remember it's a process and as long as I am trying to deal with my attitude by being more mindful then I'm ok for the most part.
