Hello All. First time posting and I couldn't locate any recent topics on this, but I've been feeling such a lack of symptoms lately that I'm so worried. I should be 19 weeks and I've had terrible nausea since week 7 but that's disappeared now, my stomach seems more deflated and squishy than before, and even though I felt flutters at 18 weeks I haven't been able to feel anything, even when I press down on my stomach. I don't go back to the OB until the end of the week and I'm terrified there won't be a heartbeat. I guess I'm just looking for advice on things to look out for or if anyone has any experience with a missed miscarriage. First pregnancy and so nervous!
Re: Missed Miscarriage Concerns
Every single time I visit my midwife, I get the same gut wrenching fear when she comes close with the Doppler. I think it's natural to be honest, or rather, a natural fear if you've read about misses miscarriages, know someone who had one, or like me, are pretty paranoid in general
I promise though, once you start feeling regular kicks and movements (I'm 19 weeks too and haven't started yet, and this is my second so they say they begin sooner) you won't have this same worry. Instead you'll be counting kicks and worried about movements! Once born, it's SIDS etc. Once grown, it's a slew of things, like getting their license! I've learned you'll always worry as a mother--always-- but the worries change. All I can say, is try to have faith that he/she is just fine and try to enjoy your pregnancy. Soon you'll feel baby move and the odds your OB won't hear the heartbeat is SO minute.
Best of luck!
Even though babys kicks have gotten huge, I mostly don't feel it when I'm busy doing things.
