What meds are suited for a head cold?

I have a heavy head and pressure in my sinuses but afraid to take anything. Doc recommends Claritin. I'm trying to sleep it off, but curious what others had to say.

For allergies, Zyrtec, Claritin, or Benadryl are all recommended during pregnancy. If those don't work and you think it's more of a cold, Sudafed is what my doctor told me to take, just make sure it is NOT Sudafed PE.

  • If it is a head cold and not allergies, you can take the traditional Robitussin cough syrup.

I'm sick right now. I didn't want to take Sudafed but robitussin DM was on the list so that's really helped my cough. Benedril has helped clear my sinuses and help me sleep. Hope you feel better!
  • You stated that your doctor recommended Claritin for your symptoms. You should take Claritin. There is no reason to seek out additional recommendations regarding medication from random women on an internet forum, over the advice of your doctor, who is a trained medical professional.
