Little scared...please help! :(

My pregnancy has been keeping me up most nights, like tonight, with what feels like a cross between hunger pains and having to poop really bad. But the feeling of hunger is met with the usual nausea... Is this normal or should I be worried??? Please help me this is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure what's normal and what I need to worry about :(

Re: Little scared...please help! :(

  • Totally normal. There is a symptoms thread that could probably answer most of your questions. Every pregnancy is different but unless you're vomiting so much that you can't keep down water (or food for a few days), it's normal. Always ask your doctor if you have real concerns, as even an MD on the internet cannot diagnose you.

  • Definitely normal. Your body is adjusting to the hormones (causing nausea) and you're also hungry more often well because you have a little one in there! Many women, including myself, get more nauseous when they're stomach is empty. There's nothing wrong with a light snack to help with that.

As far as the hard time sleeping, again, normal. Digestive problems also happen because of the hormones. Some women get constipated (I recommend Activia yogurt) and others get diaharrea.

Like the previous poster said, there a lots of other posts where you can read about what women are going through but even if you look up common pregnancy symptoms, you'll find just about all of yours listed there, so no worries!
  • Thank you both for helping with that! :) my boyfriend and I worry about my food intake because I've dealt with an eating disorder for years and this has completely thrown me off my game but the confirmation that its normal really helps me
  • If you're dealing with an eating disorder, I definitely think you would benefit from an early visit with your OB (if you haven't already) because they can give you lots of advice on the diet and nutrition you need. They'll also be able to tell you what's normal and what you should be concerned about.

  • Eating probably will help the nausea even though it seems counterintuitive. I had really bad constipation, but it's eased up significantly since week 7 or so.

It'll get better. Maybe not back to normal, but these symptoms get better then you get other fun ones... :)
  • Yep. I'm tossing and turning all night now because my stomach churns and I feel hungry but nauseous. Then I'm throwing up all morning and fine by about noon.
