Trying to Get Pregnant

Husbands Out of Town :-/

We HIO twice on Saturday and yesterday morning. I *should* be ovulating today. My husband got home from working at 12:30 last night and left for a 3 day business trip at 5am today. So no sex today :( Hope we did it enough the last few days. Sigh. Timing can be so difficult sometimes!

Re: Husbands Out of Town :-/

  • I hear ya! My husband is working days this week and I'm on nights. We just miss each other by an hour each way. Ugh....maybe next month.

  • My husband and I work opposite schedules. During the week we see each other 45 minutes per day on a good day. It's not ideal for TTGP, but we're making it work!

  • Same here! SO works long days (5-9) and I work nights 2:15-12:45. Weekends are our best shot, but it seems nearly impossible. Luckily he often wakes up in the middle of the night looking for some lovin' haha
  • With you this month. I had to go out of town during my FW. I I o'd when FF is telling me (waiting on one more temp to confirm) I got at best a -4, -3 and 0. :((
    Dang trips!
  • That was us in July. The worst part? He was out of town for a 4 day bachelor party!

  • I agree, this whole timing thing is super annoying! My DH is leaving the day before my projected O day this month because his friend couldn't decide on suits for his wedding! Now DH has to fly back to visit him so they can go shopping again. Hopefully we can HIO enough before he goes!

Yeah, I work normal office 8-5 hours and my H works 7p-5a and more often than not that 5a turns into 7a. At least we don't have issues with being interested in sex! We are excited to get to it every time we have the opportunity!

  • We are in the same boat!  I started Femara this month on cycles 4-8 so I made my husband work out his schedule so that he wouldn't leave until I was on day 20 of my cycle.  Well... that bit my in the a$$, he left yesterday morning and that's when I got my positive opk.  Of course, if I would have had him go out of town two weeks ago like he was supposed to we could have gotten the necessary BD'ing in.  Just hoping he doesn't have to leave town again for awhile and that the Sunday late night sex helped line up some of those swimmers.
  • I understand what you're feeling. My DH was out of town my entire fertile window last month. He's out of town again for 3 days right now but luckily I don't think I'm too close to my fertile window.
I don't have it nearly so hard as some of you ladies with split schedules, but my problem is my husband will work sometimes 50 or more hours a week and he is just so exhausted by the time he gets home.

My husband is often on business OFT. It makes TTC sex hard to time, so I understand. Sometimes you just have to cross your fingers and work with what you've got.

  • It sucks having the hubs out of town during FW. But am I the only one who likes the occasional alone time? My dog and I snuggle on the couch watching bad reality TV. It's glorious!

I love my alone time.  But it also makes my time with H that much more important.

I work 7a-4p, he works 4p-12a.  We're truly two ships passing in the night most times.  I do set my alarm during my FW and get up for him, or let him know so that we can make the most of it.

Last month when he was OOT, I was supposed to O, so I actually drove the 2 hours to see him, but I didn't O until 6 days later when he was back home.  Go figure!  It didnt' work out in a BFP but we did our best regardless.

  • ftrMrs0  Yikes that sounds tough. But kudos to your commitment to driving the extra mile--literally and figuratively to make the most of the FW!
