6 weeks & no morning sickness

Hi everyone! Just a question for those who may be dealing with a similar situation to mine.
I had a M/C back in June at 5 weeks. I'm exactly 6 weeks today, I have sore breasts and am peeing a lot, and very tired, but no morning sickness.
Is there something wrong with me?! I'm feeling very worried

Re: 6 weeks & no morning sickness

  • The only thing wrong, is that you're pregnant. MS does not hit everyone

  • Before my MC I was so violently ill. Maybe that's why I assume I should have it. My hubby says this pregnancy seems so different already, so maybe this is "the one" I'm certainly hoping so.
  • Some people's nausea doesn't kick in until later, while others won't have it at all. I felt way sicker with my DS than I do with this pregnancy. Try not to worry too much. Check out the symptom and "not feeling pregnant" threads on here to see what others are going through. You'll see tons of people are worried about not being sick.

  • Best of luck. I know it's hard not to dwell on things, but know that just because you don't have a symptom, doesn't mean that something in particular is wrong. For my first, I was beyond ill, boobs hurt exhausted all the time, etc. Now I'm just a little tired. Nothing is wrong except my body and the hormones are reacting differently. If your doctor says you're good, let your mind ease up and go with it.

Last time before my mmc i didnt have morning sickness, same this time. Usually if your mom didnt go through it you don't, but i have one friend who went through it even though her mom never did.
Ditto on the diff pregnancy! Last time I felt like i had a monster baby-super duper bloated, hungry, totally different cravings. This time its much smoother. I suspsect this baby has my appetite while the one before had my husband's appetite :D
  • With both of my previous pregnancies, the morning sickness didn't start until 7-8 weeks.  I'm at 6w3d now, and not feeling sick either.  So it could still be coming, or maybe you'll escape it!  FX for you :)

  • When I thought I was 6 weeks, I had no nausea whatsoever. Into what I thought was my 7th week, my nausea came rushing in. Turns out my EDD was almost exactly a week behind! So you never know, you might not be exactly 6 weeks. OR better yet, you might be one of the lucky few who doesn't experience any MS! Try not to let it get to your head, although I totally understand feeling like a lack of symptoms = a non-viable pregnancy. Everyone is different!

  • Mine got bad around 6 weeks, maybe closer to 7. I also felt fine in the mornings, it was the afternoons/evenings that were rough for me. Everyone is different and being sick does not mean your pregnancy is or is not healthy.
  • With my first, Ihad almost no nausea/MS or sore breasts - just fatigue to the extreme. This time around, I am 6w2d and feeling consistently nauseous and really tender. Symptoms can really vary between pregnancies!
  • 70% of women get MS, 50% actually throw up. With my DD I was in the lucky 30% that do not get sick at all. This time it looks like so far I'm part of the 70% as I am constantly nauseas but never have thrown up despite dry heaving. Just be grateful you don't feel awful 24/7.

  • I have three daughters and never had morning sickness with any of them. Not even nausea. So far, no morning sickness with my 4th and I'm 5 weeks 3 days.

I've had 3 pregnancies (no LOs yet). I had m/s with the 1st & 3rd and not with the 2nd (twins...) each pregnancy is different. It has no bearing on viability.

Some people just don't get it but you might want to give it a few days if you're only 6 weeks. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and mine just started. 2 days of throwing up now.
  • Wow, no one else has posted this! You're all alone!

Just kidding. There are a ton of posts like this. Click through a few pages and you can read lots of similar stories that will hopefully make you feel better. It's normal and it's still early.

  • I never had morning sickness with my first baby, and still haven't this time around at 6.5 weeks. It's different for everyone, so don't sweat about it.
  • Thanks everyone!
