1st appointment, prescribed Diclegis!?

  I haven't taken Diclegis, so I can't help there.

  Regarding the ultrasound.  I know we all look forward to an early ultrasound, and it's frustrating to have to wait, but ultrasounds are a medical procedure.  I would caution you about going for a "boutique" ultrasound.  Ultrasounds are believed to be safe, but just like any medical procedure you should only have procedures done when medically necessary by trained professionals. 

  The good news is that no u/s until 20 weeks likely means they anticipate you to be healthy with no expected complications!!  No medical need for early ultrasounds is a good thing! Good luck!

  I've taken it. It works decently but you may have to adjust the dosage with your OB. I took 2 pills at bedtime on an empty stomach.

  My OB gave me the same thing. If you read it, it says you can take 1 in the am, 1 midday, and 2 at night if your nausea is really bad. I only take them when needed but they help me!

  I was given a sample by my midwife yesterday and I took it last night. I haven't felt nauseous but I did feel sleepy throughout the day. I'll take sleepy over nausea any day.

  I take two at night, and it has helped alleviate some morning nausea. But by the afternoon, I feel awful again. I should probably change my dosage, right?

  Yes if you are still feeling nauseous you should take another one in the morning and if you're still sick another in the afternoon. They are delayed release so sometimes it can be hard to time. Feel better!

  I have and the drowsiness was awful! You have to choose which you would rather deal with nausea or extreme drowsiness. I chose nausea because the drowsiness lasted so long that I could not function at work (being that I work full time). Keep in mind everyone is different. To combat the nausea, I eat crackers before I even sit up to get out of bed in the morning. This has really helped!

  It puts me to sleep and didn't do anything so I took zofran last pregnancy. Will do the same this pregnancy if I need too. But if diclegis works for you great. Why doesn't your doctor do a 12 week scan? It's pretty standard and I would recommend it even if it wouldn't "change your outcome".

  I've been taking diclegis for a week now, its a godsend! M/s got so bad that I was vomiting multiple times a day and was starting to miss work. Since I've been taking it, the nausea is gone and no more vomiting. The first few days though, I was very drowsy/groggy but I guess my body got used to it, because now I'm just having regular pregnancy fatigue. I take 2 pills before bed, and 1 pill in the morning.

  Hey guys, so I believe I'm 8 weeks pregnant but I haven't seen a midwife yet. What happens on your first appointment?? First time mum so not a clue what happens next.

  I was prescribed diclectin at 8 weeks when my morning sickness was at an all time bad. I thought I was going to have to be hospitalized. I was throwing up 15 times a day, and couldn't keep water down. Diclectin saved me! Seriously. I was very apprehensive about taking it and tried to tough it at as long as I could, but I just couldn't do it. I would say my nausea is 95% better. I take 2 pills before bed and am fine all day. My doctor suggested I also take one in the morning and afternoon, however, I have only needed to take an additional pill during the day about 3 times. I hope it works for you, and hope you're feeling better soon!
