  You could be 2cm for days or hours. I'm 39+1 and I'm 4cm. No labor yet. But everyone is different. Good luck momma!

  Don't get your hopes up. I'm not sure why he would say that just to be honest. I've mentioned this on several other posts today but as of Friday when I had a membrane sweep done I was 3cm dilated, 90% effaced, and lost my mucus plug (bloody show) later that evening. 3 days later and I am no closer to having this baby.

  He shouldn't have said that. A sweep isn't a guarantee that true labor will start.

  I have heard of lots of Drs saying that.  I don't know why they get your hopes up when dilation isn't a good sign of when labor will start or how fast it will go....

  I was 2 cm and 50% effaced at my dr appointment Friday and had a membrane sweep and here I sit 4 days later still pregnant.

  Ugh. That's annoying. I've sat at 2CM, 80% effaced and a soft "ready" cervix for 2 weeks. Don't get your hopes up like I did!

  I was at the hospital Monday. 2 cm 80% effaced, strong contractions and released to walk... Contractions continued back to the hospital and they stopped!!! Here I sit on Wednesday still waiting. Doctor thought I'd be back and have a baby by now. She will be surprised when I see her on Friday!!
