My girl has been crazy active the last 2 days. But today I'm not feeling much movement. There is some big "can't miss it" type movements when we poke at her but I can't get my kick counts even though this is her active time. I've tried to use my Doppler and she'll move away from it so I know she's in there just decreased movement. It's not easy for me to call my dr since I really don't have a set dr. My husband is military and you basically just have to go to L&D if you think there's an issue. So would you go in or count the big random movements as ok?
Re: Less movement
I had a day last week where baby didn't move much and it had me very worried. I kept drinking orange juice and water and poking him and watching the clock. About 8 hours after I noticed decreased movement he started kicking up a storm like usual and has continued to do so. I figure he was just sleeping off schedule and no big deal but you betcha I would have been on the phone with my doc or visiting l&d if he didn't start kicking the crap out of me by that 12 hour mark that I read about.
If baby's not moving normally by morning I'd call or go in. If at point baby just stops moving entirely call immediately and ask them what they want you to do.
You may end up with an "unnecessary" trip to l&d but it's definetly a case of better safe than sorry and when it's your baby's health at stake I don't think there really is being too careful.
