Doctor Appointment

I'm not sure if it's okay for me to start my own thread or not on this, but I did a search and it seems my search isn't working. I'm also mobile, so that could be an issue.
Anyway, I posted on an FFFC a week or two ago that my confession was that I was 12 to 13 weeks and I hadn't been to a doctor yet, but I was taking care of myself and taking prenatals. I can't remember who, but someone had asked me why I hadn't been to a doctor and I explained and then the person and a few others wanted me to keep them posted.
Well, today, at 2:30 pm central time, I am finally seeing a doctor. I'm scared and nervous and I'm just praying that everything is going as it should be.
I will update on this after the doctor's appointment.
Back story: At Christmas time this past year, H and I found out I was pregnant. So, I did what I normally do...applied for insurance (medicaid) and WIC. A day after I got approved for both, I had a mc. We were devastated. Fear got into my head, which made me think that if I got pregnant again and did like I should by getting insurance (medicaid) and WIC, that I would possibly lose the baby again.
Yes, I know that's not how this works, but I had had three healthy pregnancies before the mc. I never expected to have an mc. My irrational fears paralyzed me when we found out I was pregnant again, in June. I didn't want to apply for medicaid and WIC. I was just too terrified. Then, something snapped and I realized that I couldn't continue going without seeing a doctor because eventually, I was going to have to have the baby and I do want to make sure that the baby is healthy, so I finally got insurance and now finally have an appointment.
(I apologize if I shouldn't have opened my own thread about this. I just didn't know where else to post it.)

Side note::: people had entire pregnancies without doctors visits at one time in history. You're doing what you had/have to do. Let us know how it goes!

Don't feel bad for starting your own thread. The repeat posts are annoying bc then we miss the posts of people who really need support - like you. Hope your appt relieves some of your anxiety.

I know getting past fears like that is difficult because you don't want to jinx yourself. It's crazy how tragedy affects a person.

Married since 8/7/10
After being a half hour late to my appointment (thanks to my husband for not listening to me when I told him the time he needed to back to his main office for me to be to the doctor on time...grrrr...) I finally get there and I swear I had to give my entire life history, which I expected as I went to a new doctor.
Got the paperwork done, was called back and met the nurse, who was very nice. Before the doctor examined me, we got to meet with him in his office and talk. He gave me a prescription for diclegis for my nausea, which seems to have gone away for now, but I at least have the prescription as a just in case.
Then we go to the exam room. Very nicely set up, which I like. Even had a separate little changing room so I wouldn't be changing into the dreaded backless gown they give you and knock on the door ready to come in before you are ready.
Then begins the exam. Oh, at this point I've already been told they will not be doing a VBAC as the hospital will not agree to it, which I'm OK with. So, I will be having another c-section.
He does the exam and papsmear (shivers, I really dislike those), and then decides to a transvaginal sonogram, which I'm fine with since I had to empty my bladder beforehand.
And then I see it...My little bean! Ok, so I'm sure every mother thinks that their bean is totally cute the very first time they see it, so I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one...if I am, someone tell me. Lol! Little bean measures 14 weeks and 2 days from head to butt and measures 14 weeks and 5 days according to femur. So, I was right with my calculations on that. Due date is set on February 24th, 2016. Little bean's HR was 152. Yay!
They sent me for labs and the panorama test. I swear they were making sure to play vampire on my arm.
I have my next appointment on September 29th when I'll be 19 weeks. Funny enough, the appointment on the 29th is for the gender ultrasound and it is on mine and H's wedding anniversary.
I'm happy and thrilled! I got to see the baby and HR is good!

My H is a goof. I asked yesterday what he thinks we are having. He said a girl. I asked if that was his gut feeling or wishful thinking and his response is that it's a girl, one way or another. He's such a goofball.
Sep 29 is my birthday! It's a good day
