Distraction for everyone in the 2ww

whats everyone up to this weekend besides thinking and overthinking if we get BFPs? :-)

I'm planning on just staying home with my husband and working on some home renovations. Hopefully go to the pool with friends on Sunday it'll be a pretty chill weekend which I will enjoy since every weekend is booked from Labor Day until November. Eeeek!!

Re: Distraction for everyone in the 2ww

  • We have spent the last 3 days at the jersey shore. Tonight we are going to my in laws for the weekend. We have a first birthday pool party tomorrow for my dh's best friends son and going to a mets game on Sunday. By then I'll have 1 week down and 1 to go

  • Nice! I spent my July 4th at the jersey shore.
  • Spending our anniversary going to my favorite restaurant in Beverly Hills tomorrow night.  Then pool time sunday and dine-in theater to watch Straight Outta Compton.

I'm feeling lots more ovulation cramping today.  Just had my 2nd IUI, so excited I was able to do it.

@drove2u what day is your beta set for?

  • @babyexpress that sounds awesome!!

Yay @AdorkablePixie I'm so happy things worked out for you. Can't wait until you join in on the wait with us. The more the merrier. :-)

About to have dinner that I cooked. Roasted chicken with potatoes peppers and carrots and a side salad and then hopefully watch a movie. Any recommendations? I watched a fault in our stars today and bawled my eyes out.
  • @babyexpress that sounds like a great weekend

@AdorkablePixie I also hate the mets but my husband and his family are big mets fans. I'm a Phillies fan so we have quite the competition in our house but should be a fun afternoon regardless
  • @babyexpress my beta is on sept 11. I go in next Friday to check my progesterone. How about you?

    @Drove2u Sept. 9th.

I cried during Fault in our Stars also...  What a great flick.
    :((

@AdorkablePixie Dine-in Theater is a movie theater that you get a waiter and can get full meals and order bottles of wine, etc.  Its awesome.  They all have full recliners with blankets and pillows.  So fun.

  • @Drove2u I watched The Fault In Our Stars recently. Cried like a baby! It was a good movie though. Have you seen If I Stay? That's a good one too, but also very sad.

@rachlee2010 I am an Orioles fan. :) I agree though, the game will be fun either way!

@babyexpress That is awesome!!! I don't think we have anything like that near where I live. I should research it though, DH would LOVE that.

Today is just boring house stuff day.
  • @Drove2u My DH and I watched Birdman recently. We both thought it was a terrible movie. Let me know what you thought when you get through it!

  • I have to say. Being at a party this afternoon was such a great distraction. While I did talk a tiny bit about what's going on with us with one friend I was busy and not constantly thinking about it and looking into every twinge I felt in my body!!
  • @mskeenan I love San Diego!! And Austin!!

@rachlee2010 that's great!! We all need distractions like that.

My biggest distraction today was going to Costco. Lol. And then DH cooked us dinner which was nice. I was also able to get in a little yoga today.
  • Had my first IUI Aug 24th.  I'm in the middle of my 2WW.  Spent this weekend with my stepdaughter and this week will be spent working and getting ready to go to Tybee Island Friday.  I will test at the Beach on our Anniversary so I'm hoping this will be good luck.  Good luck to all waiting to get BFPs
  • Where is tybee island? What do you do there? You're almost there--the end of your TWW. :-)
@AdorkablePixie never finished bird man and started watching the drop which actually seemed really good. It's just that we fell asleep. We're getting old. Lol.
Been doing home renovations today and going to the pool with friends later for Sunday fun day!!
  • @Drove2u it's in Georgia past Savannah. They call it Savannah's beach. We got married there on the beach and decided that's where we wanted to spend our anniversary this year
  • That's so cool!! Have fun and happy anniversary!!
  • @Drove2u I'm getting old too. haha I took a nap, yesterday when I got home from my aunts bridal shower. haha

@mskeenan I love the San Diego zoo! I've been there two or three times. :) My aunt lives in San Diego so I visit there any time I have plane ticket money and some vacation time.

@agriffin92013 Have a good time at Tybee Island and happy anniversary!

  • I'm sorta pathetic, but durning my 2ww I love to Pinterest nurseries, baby names and baby clothing; plan for the potential bundle of joy. It's keeps me positive!

But I have been quite busy with going upstate to our cabin and hanging by the pool with my sister in law.

  • I hope everyone had a good and distracting weekend..I know I did..But i'm exhausted now...Now I just have to get through 1 more week of being distracted..The next two days will be tough but ti's back to work on Wednesday for me (life of a teacher, back to the grind) so that will help and then off to the Jersey shore for the long weekend..beta is as soon as we get back after Labor Day on Tuesday morning even though Sunday will be my 2 week mark...stupid holiday weekend pushing it back
  • @agriffin92013 happy anniversary!
@rachlee2010 have fun at the Jersey Shore! Hopefully you'll be able to relax and get your mind off things.

I tried really hard to stay distracted all weekend and not think about things. Yesterday was a good day because we had a birthday party, but stayed home all day today and perused the web. I have my blood test on Friday...feels like an eternity from now. Tempted to test beforehand, but I'm sick of seeing the bfn!

I really feel like I'm out for this month. Our timing was off because hubby went out of town. My IUI was 27 hours post trigger rather than 36. I felt ovulation pains 11-12 hours later. Really hope it wasn't too late. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's really hard.

    Good luck to everyone else!
  • @rachlee2010 I am sure once you are back in school the time will fly by! Then a nice weekend away. :) Sounds like fun!

@Rachd110 I think you're fine. The swimmers can live in your body for up to 5 days, so ovulating 11-12 hours later is not a big deal. :)

@Colleen0516 Pinterest actually sounds like a good distraction! I will have to keep that one in mind.
