Early Pregnancy - No Symptoms?

Hi all! I'm new to The Bump-- looking forward to reading everyone's stories as I go down this journey called pregnancy!

I'm anxious to know if any of you did not experience any early symptoms of being pregnant, e.g., nausea and cravings. I'm 4.5 weeks, and honestly, I wouldn't have known except for the BFP from a few days ago! My husband and I were trying for 11 mos, and we're so excited! This is our first baby, and the first time I've ever been pregnant. I'm 37 years old.

If anyone has any positive stories to share, that would surely quell this anxiety in my heart. I've never been happier, and I truly feel blessed to be having this experience!

Tons of hugs to all of you!!!

  • With my son (now 4) I had essentially no symptoms for the entire pregnancy. I'd get nauseous if I ate too late but other than that, not a symptom and if I didn't eat after 7 no symptoms at all. This time, I've been nauseous since before my BFP, and my cravings are already out of control. Every pregnancy is different!

  • @soxfan9968 eh, I'm also an Oakland Raiders fan-- we all have our shortcomings
  • @soxfan9968 glad to meet you here and a happy & healthy pregnancy to you!!!
  • Painfully admitting to being a white sox fan! Lol!!

Woo hoo!! Go white Sox!! I grew up in Illinois and we used to go to white sox games a bunch. I'm still a fan.
  • I'm about as far as you are right now, and I haven't felt really anything major, except my breasts have been sore and kinda stiffer for like a month now haha. But unfortunately, I read something on here that this early we might not feel too much so far :(... Usually when you get to six weeks, I guess it'll hit you like a ton of bricks lol
  • @mdrago4510 yeah, I'm starting to think we should just start being thankful for feeling well!! Good luck to you, I go to find out the results of my first blood test tonight, so we'll see how baby and I are doing! Xoxo
  • Because we all symptom spot like crazy in the TWW there is a false expectation that nausea etc should occur earlier. In reality 4 weeks is very early (I'm the same) and with my first pregnancy I remember naively telling the doctor at 4 weeks "I feel great, maybe I won't get nausea" She said don't be surprised if it starts around 6-7 weeks. She was right and then I was nausea 24/7 until 14 weeks so this time I'm trying to enjoy this time - oh and eating lots of food that I might not want in a couple weeks :)

  • @Flip60 Good advice! Yes, during the TWW I looked for EVERY symptom possible. Yet the first two symptoms that hinted to me I was pregnant were ones I'd never even thought of. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow, and I'm in disbelief that it's going to be this smooth. Like you suggested, I guess I'll sit back and enjoy this for awhile -- as long as it lasts! H&H to you!!
  • Congratulations on your pregnancy. This question gets asked very very very very often here. If you haven't already, please use the search function to find threads before starting your own. Btw, it is normal. I've had no symptoms and I have a healthy pregnancy and I'm twelve weeks.

  • Hi there! Congrats on your pregnancy! I'm 7 w + 5 and right up until 6 weeks I had no major symptoms bar fatigue...thought I had escaped the dreaded nausea but then, bang on 6 weeks it started...it's not too bad in all fairness but has got a little stronger as my pregnancy has progressed. Best of luck with it all.
