My LO is almost 3 weeks old and we haven't used soap/shampoo on him at all. But also, he really doesn't get dirty. His baths are more just to get him used to taking baths. This was def not the case with our first, who spit up a LOT.... He got real baths frequently.
I was told to use soap/shampoo on their hair when it looks greasy. I'm still just using water on his skin (5 weeks) and he is clean. I will use soap if he is dirty or smelly starting at 6 weeks.
There's non scented baby products that's the kind we use, both my husband and I have very sensitive skin and so does our daughter. Non scented things helped out a lot. But we used them from when she was born as well
Day he was born with our LO too. Hospital used Johnson and Johnson but i find it drying. We use babyganics foaming soap and lotion. It is all natural non drying and smells amazing! I am trying to avoid cradle cap at all costs and there is no sign so far and I really think it is because of the soap. I just think it looks gross
We started giving our baby girl baths last week when she was 4 weeks old, we use Honest Company hair and body wash because it's sulfate and paraban free and free if a lot of other junk too. Also it has a light please t smell. We only give her baths a few times a week for now. Oh, we also use the Sink Flower thing and it's awesome!!!
We do baths 2x a week. His hair gets oily looking, but I know the oil is good too. He has a lot of dark hair. We were told to brush it everyday to spread the natural oils around his scalp. No sign of cradle cap here either! We are using a puj tub that fits in our bathroom sink
DD was in the nicu for 8 days and they started her on a bathtime routine every night and used nighttime Johnson and johnsons, so we have kept the nightly routine at home. She loves her bedtime bath, put her to sleep for the whole night!
We use mustella and baby girl smells so sweet, I'll prob forever love that scent now. We live in Texas, so baby girl does get pretty sweaty at times. She gets a water bath every evening and a soapy bath 3x a week.
We had been using aveeno soap from the start but last week at his 2 month appointment dr said his skin was dry and to stop using soap. Said resume in a few months. She said continue to shampoo hair but water is all they need.
Burrs bees baby wash and lotion starting at day 3, and we bathe every 2-3 days. Every day I wash her face with a wet washcloth (no soap) since she has baby acne, then I put a little breast milk on it and it's helping. Sometimes I'll just wash her hair too if it's looking greasy, just stick her scalp under the faucet. We use a baby tub in our tub. She loves it!
We give our little guy a bath with soap about twice a week, but I do wash his hair like every other day bc he has a small amount of cradle cap so my dr recommended putting olive oil on it for a little bit then washing and brushing. It seems to do the trick. LO loves his bathtime!
We have been using Burts Bees from the start (it sells divine) and sometimes I will use the Burts Bees lotion post bath but l mostly use coconut oil. We bathe her every 2 or 3 days depending on spit up and blowouts haha.
Re: bath time?
But I've been bathing him since his stump fell off.
He loves the bath.
