The only way that I have found to curb nausea/morning sickness is to literally snack the entire day. But I'm afraid I'm going to gain too much weight. I'm already a little over weight to begin with. Anyone else?
I've been eating very small snacks every hour or two then cutting back on my regular meal size. I don't calorie count, but I'd guess it's not a net-increase. Hoping the nausea doesn't get any worse.
This happened to me beginning at 5.5wks through the beginning of 7wks. I had the exact same worry about eating too much but stopped caring because I felt so lousy. Then about a week ago, at beginning of week 7, my nausea and queasy stomach reduced a lot and I became really emotional. Mood swings big time. My doctor said eating all the time helps with this too as blood sugar dips can intensify mood swings. Can't win!
Someone suggested protein to me, so when ever I feel queasy I try to eat a few almonds. I think it helps, but I also generally feel like garbage all day anymore so, who knows.
I've found the new "bright side" bars to be great snacks. Not only do they taste good but the packaging is happy and the bar itself is heart shaped. Fun snack.
I'm 8 weeks and dealing with the same thing. I haven't threw up yet but I always feel like I'm going too unless I eat as soon as I get up. And I feel like I have to eat all day or I feel empty and nauseous ! I'm just hungry all the time ! And I don't have the weight to gain! Trying to reach for more healthy things but nothing sounds good ! I'm usually all about my ground meat and I can't even stomach it! Where are you second trimester ! Lol
I keep saltines every where. If I keep eating I'm not necessarily less nauseous but I throw up less if I keep something in my stomach. Oh the fun of the first trimester...
Yes! Anytime I feel queasy, I can make it go away at this point by eating something. Ugh, it was like this with my first pregnancy which is why I probably gained so much. I'm trying to do better with my eating this time but it's definitely hard when everything makes you want to throw up except McDonald's. Haha
Yes! So much yes! I feel like I'm going to get huge! I'm a little overweight as it is but when I don't eat I feel nauseous. What a dilemma! And it's so weird because when I was pregnant with my son I NEVER wanted go eat. And now its all I do. Lol
I also have been eating a lot. But I just feel so crappy when I am not eating. I a trying to eat stuff with high water content to make myself feel full - this week is watermelon and a cucumber salad for snack. I am hoping to be able to eat more normally soon.
It's normal. I have crackers and small portions stashed in my desk. My problem is that something that sounds good in the morning for lunch does not sound good come time to eat. Today I gave in and bought Chinese because it sounded so good.
I'm finding I do better if I snack a through the day. If I eat too big a meal I end up feeling naucous, shaky and dizzy. I would assume it's blood sugar.
So glad it's not just me! I havent thrown up yet either but I just snack on crackers all day. Very plain food works for meals. I haven't had energy to work out yet because of the business I work in has me working ten hour days 6 days a week with my SO out for a few weeks for work. So hopefully I can start getting in a little exercise after the first trimester.
Yesss! I totally relate. I find myself sick with hunger every 2-3 hours
'round the clock. DH teases me every morning come time for 'second
breakfast.' I try to snack on healthier things if I can but when I
get something in my mind I HAVE to have it. English muffins and olives
are my new best friends.
I read on someone's post that salt and vinegar chips help.... well fast forward to DH going grocery shopping today and I sent a text asking for chips.... he came home with 3 different kinds of s&v.... who knew? Poor guy was just trying to help... lol
I am at 8w1d and have to eat throughout the day to curb nausea. If my stomach feels empty, I truly become extremely moody and nothing will sound appealing. I generally experience "morning sickness" between 9pm and 5am. I lost 58lbs before getting pregnant and I want to be healthy with this pregnancy but all I can stomach are crackers, toast, and bland food but crave salt and chocolate.
Yup this is me. I pretty much eat all day every day and have gained 3-5 lbs (fluctuates some obviously). I was the same during my first pregnancy, and I spent so much time stressing over my weight gain in the beginning... but it all evened out once I felt better, I gained 30 total pounds, and was back to my PP weight within 6 weeks of giving birth. (Granted my body shape was different!) I wish I hadn't been so stressed about it because it all worked out! So this time I'm trying not to worry so much or feel guilty. I would rather eat all day and gain a few extra lbs in the beginning than feel like total crap all the time. Your body is telling you what it needs! And soon you will feel better (hopefully!) and can get back to healthier habits.
