Anyone use the Britax BSafe Bagile 35 car seat?

My LO is 7 weeks old. As he is gaining some weight, the buckle in the carseat is getting too tight on his legs. It's tight enough that it will leave marks on his inner thighs. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a way to adjust it so it doesn't leave marks? I've gone to the Britax website and watched the video but of course they use a doll instead of a real kiddo which doesn't help me to see how the buckle is supposed to sit. I had a friend look at our car seat and she said the clips that hook into the buckle in the car seat stick out way farther than their car seat and she didn't think that the buckle should be leaving marks on our LO (which I agree with, just can't figure out why it's doing that).

  • My mom is a paramedic & they do car seat check clinics for public to help people install, adjust & use car seats correctly. You might check with your local paramedics or fire department to see if they are holding a clinic where you can get some assistance

  • Seek out a CERTIFIED car seat professional. You can also ask on Car Seats for the Littles. They may have an answer for you, as well.

  • I have this seat. It has a red button and strap a little lower than the crotch area. If you push and hold the red button and pull the shoulder straps they all loosen on mine
  • My daughter is 6 weeks and we are experiencing the same problem. She cries every time she goes in her car seat. The straps leave red marks on both of her legs. Have you figured anything out to help? It seems to me that the buckle that extends through the legs is not long enough and should sit higher on her. That way the straps would lay flat rather than at an angle digging into her legs.
  • I wa thinking the same thing. It seems like the buckle should be higher which would prevent the marks and digging in that currently happens. Someone said once our son is 11lbs we can move the buckle (there are two places to adjust the buckle on the bottom). We have not tried this yet. We have an appointment with our pediatrician next week so we'll find out how much he weighs then. Someone else suggested that we place something between the straps and his legs such as pants or shorts (hems usually only in onesies).
