Hello ladies! Need advice....anyone else sore down there, should I be worried?

Hello all you mommies and mommies to be!

Maybe this is a TMI discussion, but figured Id see if anyone else has had this issue now or in the past.

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant and lately I have just been feeling like my muscles down there are kinda sore. Especially when I wake up in the morning, I feel all stiff down there and sore. I'm hoping it is nothing serious. And that maybe its just the body's way of stretching and growing to house baby. I am drinking lots more water that I was before. I am starting to try and rest more as well and try and take things easy. Maybe I am just doing to much?!?!

Any advice would be more that helpful!!!

  • I feel the same way

  • It's typically normal to feel sore or pressure down there. Especially when going from sitting to standing or laying to standing. I still have it for a few minutes when I get up and walk around sometimes. Belly bands help around 50% of women with this during pregnancy. :)
  • Thanks ladies,

Im thinking about trying to do some light exercise, probably in the pool at the gym. also drinking more water than I can stand and trying to keep my fluids up and at a normal level. So nice to have other mommies out there to hear you and are going through the same thing. takes a lot of the fear and worries away :)

  • I definitely feel a little swollen! :( you could always ask your Ob at your next apt or call the nurse but my guess is it's all normal!
  • I definitly get sore down there and it sometimes feels like I road a bike for the first time ever. My doctor said it is normal growing and stretching as long as it goes away with rest. If it gets really painful and doesn't go away with rest and water you should call your doctor. I also have to pay attention to things like this more since I am having twins.
  • I had this a lot with my previous pregnancy. I was told it was a combination of stretching and pressure from the baby. I did a lot of work after he was born to strengthen my core and pelvic muscles and it seems to have made a huge difference this time around. If nothing else really work on your kegals. You can also tighten your abdominal muscles to help support things as much as possible.
  • I don't intend to scare you, but at 25 weeks I started having pain in my vagina, I let it go on for a few days not thinking much of it. After a few days it got worse and I ended up going to labor and delivery just to be safe. They diagnosed me with a uti, but that didn't really match the pain. The very next day I started spotting and went right back to L&D. The did an interuteral sonogram and it turns out I have complete placenta previa. I will be on bedrest until 37 weeks when they will schedule a c-section. Going into labor naturally could have devastating results.

My regular obgyn said the pain was normal and to get a maternity belt, the 1st visit they didn't look well enough into it. I'm glad I trusted my instincts.
  • Totally normal. This is my 3rd and i started having pain down there at different times with each pregnancy. I am 25 weeks and it feels like someone kicked me in the crotch repeatedly. I havent found any good ways to relieve the pain other than not sitting still for long periods of time.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't discover this at your anatomy scan. I was under the impression it's routine with this to check placenta placement.
  • I'm a million times more sore down there with this pregnancy than my last...and I was a lot more heavy last time, maybe it's cause I'm older, maybe it's because he's low, I have no idea but it's awful...
I feel like I rode a bike with a hard seat for 5 miles straight... Or was kicked in the crotch
  • I have this and feel reLly swollen down there. Even DH mentioned he could feel the difference in that area. Glad to hear it's normal and not just me. It's not painful just uncomfortable.
