Pennsylvania Babies

What would you do - house guests for a week with a 5 month old?

DH and I need to discuss this, but my sister and her 2 sons would like to stay with us for a week in July for the boys to attend science camp at Penn State.  They did that in 2007 and it wasn't a big deal, but we didn't have a 5 month old then.  The boys will be 12 and almost 10.

My sister did volunteered to babysit.  And last time they did lots of stuff after camp so they weren't necessarily hanging around the house.  It's just that i have no idea what having a 5 month old would be like.

  • uhm your baby is going to be eating, sleeping, and playing a little bit.  Not really sure what you are asking.

We've had a billion house guests in the past couple of months thanks to the holidays.

  • You'll have an established schedule by then, so I say go for it!  Also, make sure to take advantage of having a babysitter!
  • I don't think it would be a big deal. You'll have a routine established by that time and I'm sure your sister would want to see the baby. It might be good that the baby will be 5 months old and having a couple other older kids around for some interaction. I don't think your sister or the boys will be out all night long or anything along those lines! Definitely take advantage of having a babysitter, too!
  • Sophia is 5.5 months now and I would be fine with that situation.  She just eats, sleeps and plays.  I think it would be fine.
  • And definitely take your sister up on babysitting.  You and your DH will probably be more than ready for a night out at that point!
  • I would go for it... I would enjoy the company actually.
  • At five months, it should be fine. Enjoy the visit, and the babysitting!
  • Thanks, everyone.  DH and I talked about it, too, and we decided we'd go for it.
