Michigan Babies

Is there a midwife with delivery privileges at any of the Lansing hospitals?

My sister had her baby in January 2012 at McClaren with Sameerah Shareef, but she will no longer be delivering there after the New Year. I called her office and this is indeed true. I am so disappointed! I just moved to the area from Traverse City and had a midwife deliver my first baby and was hoping for the same for my second (12 weeks along).

I'm currently going to Alliance and while the receptionist said they're very supportive of natural birth, who can really be sure? Has anybody gone with Alliance and done a natural birth?  Or any experiences with Sparrow?

  • Sorry if this comes to you too late, but to my knowledge Sameerah was the only one who had privileges in the area. I have had 2 natural births at Sparrow and I go to Alliance, so you are welcome to message me if you would like my experiences. Good luck!
