vaginal bleeding

Does anyone else have vaginal bleeding? I'm 14 weeks and 5 days pregnant with twins, I've had this happend before a couple weeks ago and I was told it was due to a serious bladder infection but I got put on treatment, I'm just worried, no cramps or anything so far,

Re: vaginal bleeding

  • I'm not a doctor , but I imagine if it was due to a bladder infection the source of the bleeding would be the urethral opening and not the vagina? Vaginal spotting can be nothing to worry or something to worry about depending on the cause.I think it's best you call your doctor. Hoping it resolves soon.

    This.
  • Rule of thumb in my office is always to call or head to labor & delivery if red blood is present or if spotting (pink) has been present for more than 24 hours.

Have you already put a call into your doctor? I would definitely do it if you haven't because it could be nothing or it could be something like pp have said.

Fx it's nothing. Keep us updated

Same with my office. Hoping it is nothing OP!
  • I would def call your on call nurse. I had a few instances of spotting between 5 and 10 weeks. Turned out to be nothing but its good to let them know so if they think it's more they can have you looked at!

  • I went through this during weeks 6 and 9.  Please call your doctor, cramping or not.  I hope everything turns out okay!
  • Call the doctor. Always call and tell them what exactly is going on. Don't let it fester. There are many things that could cause this. I've been to the hospital already for this. I felt like I was worrying over nothing . Mine was real light discharge but lasted for 3 days. The hospital checked everything. I would not think twice about it again. The doctor and nurses all agreed that it was the right thing to do.
  • I rushed to the er, did an ultrasound and the babies are fine and they did a pelvic exam and I am not dilated, and no bladder infection this time so idk, it's just weird for me that this happens to me
  • Glad everything is OK!
  • I had some spotting on and off for at least 12 hours with bright red to pink blood at around 10 weeks. Since this is my first and absolutely none of my friends who were or had previously been pregnant said anything about it other than it Could happen after sex, and my doctor had put it in my head to let her know as soon as it happened, I was pretty freaked out. I called the hospital and talked to a very nice nurse who suggested me doing one of two things, either come into the ER and have it checked out or watch and see what happened. I watched it for the first couple of hours until it seemingly went away, and then the next morning, it was back. I immediately went in. I'm glad I did otherwise I would've worried myself to pieces about "what if"s and "I should have"s if something had gone wrong. Everything turned out fine. Baby was ok, nothing major had happened and I was put on light to no lift duty, and was told to take it easy, even while at work. I'm now 14 weeks, and have had a bit more spotting, not like the first time, just enough to notice on toilet paper and usually take the day off (since I have intermittent leave right now) so I can make sure that it doesn't get worse.
Always call your doctor or clinic/hospital to let them know what's going on. The doctor needs to know asap so they can keep a better eye on what could happen and make judgements to help both you and baby, even if its bed rest when you can't financially afford to take that much time off.
  • If they aren't concerned maybe your cervix was just irritated? I spot off and on because I have a sensitive cervix.. more so after sex, bowel movements, lots of walking, etc. Stuff like that. Just an idea if you are still worried about it. But regardless, that is great news that everything is going well!!

  • Thanks, I guess it could be for walking and standing for a while"/
  • I've had issues with spotting through my pregnancy. According to my doctor I just have a very sensitive cervix. Yesterday I saw red blood and was very freaked out but turned out to be just the same issue. Mine isn't always directly after sex or exercise either. May be the next day or two before I notice anything. I know how terrifying it is but it can be completely normal and nothing major.
