Hello, I just found out I have them. Other than gentle laxatives & tux pads, is there anything else I can do to decrease them or be more comfortable? Nurse said they may get worse & not go away
Anusol suppositories have been a life saver for me. Sitz baths and tucks pads are a start, but if they don't get better definitely ask your midwife about suppositories!
My sister in law just had her baby and after 3 hours of hard pushing had some horibble hemorroids. Her midwife suggested grating a raw potato, wrapping a small amount in some gauze and placing it against (not in!) the anus.
I was having some rectal bleeding (charming, right?) and the nurse said it could have been due to hemmoroids. They recommended upping my water intake and taking colace/stool softener.
Nupercainal cream is magical. It's numbing and lasts for a few hours. I've had them since I took Zofran with my second pregnancy and the needing it this time around hasn't helped matters. I'm hoping to get them removed after my pregnancy at some point.

Tucks medicated pads, sits baths for treating and stool softener/water/fiber for prevention of straining. You can even try a cushion to sit on to help back there
