My LO is 4 weeks and I just found out she has both a lip tie and a tongue tie. I am breastfeeding, but the ties do not make it painful and she is still able to nurse. She is not gaining as much weight as she should- was 9lb 14oz at birth, now 10lb 1oz at 4 week check up. I am not sure if the ties are to blame for weight or not. Other than that, they don't seem to be causing issues. I am debating if I should have the ties clipped now to prevent future issues from coming up but don't want to put my baby through an unnecessary medical procedure if its not a problem. Any other moms dealt with this?

Fast forward to when he was 3...he had to have tubes in his ears- the ENT suggested to clip while he was under anesthesia. He said that it to have it done as a baby is a simple procedure but when they get older it has to be done under anesthesia.
