Acronyms? Confusing to a newbie!

I just found out a couple of days ago that my husband and I are expecting (5 weeks, due 4/23/16) so I signed up to connect with other moms. In a lot of posts, I see a variety of acronyms and I can't figure out in context what they mean! Can anyone help a sister out?

Some that I've seem are: DS, DD, BFP... They are probably obvious haha... thanks in advance!

Yep- see the above from teddib20

but for short:
D=dear so DD= dear daughter, DS= dear son, DH- dear husband, BFP= big fat positive, SO= significant other, MS- morning sickness, MW- midwife-- I think those are the most common ones I've seen but I still have to go back to the acronynms post sometimes

I have been confused as well. That list is huge! It's like joining the military all over again.

I'm going to admit, I HATE some of the acronyms. That said, you can figure most of them out, and look up the others. In some cases it makes a lot of sense to abbreviate... but in a lot of cases, it's a really cliquey thing about knowing the slang.
